I'm a guy in a female dominated industry,

I'm told weekly I have no idea what I'm doing or talking about despite working in my industry 4+. years and gaining multiple promotions.

also due to the fact I'm 23, but I have been told many times a "man shouldn't be doing a woman's job"

I remember when I was really young about 8-9 that was the first time I discovered about men’s issues all the girls in my class could chat away as they please where I would get a 10 minute detention for saying like 3 words

I have faced work place discrimination on the job from women multiple times.

The first, I was working for a small CPA firm. The owner(lets call him r) was an okay guy, but he had an employee(female, lets call her f) who was in title only equal to me, but acted as an operations manager. When I started there, I came in the door with more experience and a higher level of degree. When doing anything in the CPA environment, you have to learn subtle nuances of how things are done, and the methodology. I found that the way things were being done were ineffective and inefficient. From the owner himself, I was empowered to take ownership and make changes as needed. Of course F was one of those types that you just want to stay out of her crosshairs and out of her way because she was known for not being a good team player. She was allowed to essentially do what she wanted because r being 25-30 years older than f, really had the hots for her. It was one of those situations where you could tell that r really wanted to sleep with f. I am not saying that they did, nor am I speculating that f is that kind of girl, but it was clear that the relationship had a sexual component to it. The way they would have lunch together every day, just the two of them and no one else was invited. The way that they would sometimes behave like two teenagers dating in high school with the whispering and giggling. The way that she would go into his office during the day and he would close/lock his office door and turn on music loud enough to hide any sort of sound going on. He would even close his blinds so no one could see inside. As a result of this f was allowed to essentially run rough shot over anyone. When I started to modify the methodology of the work I would do every month, f took offense to it because she created the original methodology. The ironic part is that, f never had any formalized training in financial work, and she was simply a wing it and self taught. Her work would often time be incorrect and needed to be redone or corrected. That would mostly be done by r, or he would hand it off to someone else while f was in his office. The firm consisted of 4 female employees, and 3 male employees including me and r. Often times f would get aggravated about something and she would let the men know. On numerous occasions I would be handed f's work to correct it, because it was in error. When I did, she would come into my office and say things about how I was an ass kisser and sucking up to r. I never asked to have to do her work on top of mine, simply that r is the boss and he told me to fix it correctly. The changes I would make R was in full support with because it added layers of depth and clarity. I would fix F's work and then afterword's she would "review it" and not understand what I did. She would storm into my office demanding I tell her why the fuck I messed up her work, even though r is an actual CPA, and she has no formalized training. When I would correctly point out the changes I made, were not only approved by r, but that they were in line with legal requirements for the work we do, she would get upset. She would cuss me out and say things like I am just a stupid fucking man who doesn't even understand anything. She would make claims how I am just a cuck to r, and how I have a small dick, and no woman would ever want to be with me. The first time it happened I should have just quit on the spot because r heard, and did NOTHING about it. Unfortunately I was at a time and place in my life that I needed a job and couldn't afford to just out right quit. I wasn't even wrong with what I said. I actually know what I am doing, and I have a Master's degree in my discipline. It is likened to someone arguing with a medical doctor and telling the doctor they don't know what they are talking about. The doctor went to medical school, you didn't even pass high school. She would say these types of things to male clients who we ended up losing, and to the other male employee. We had hired a few more guys in my time, but they would end up lasting only a few days to a week before F was just running them over with overly sexist things. She really hated most men because of her personal issues. The last guy to quit was one that came in after me. He was a really smart guy who was working on passing the CPA exam. He was almost completed with the testing when he just hit his limit. R was hoping that he and I would become CPAs so that we could buy him out of the firm so he could retire. F has no degrees whatsoever and wasn't interested in becoming a CPA. after the other gentlemen quit, I heard r questioning why f is always like that to guys. Mind you, she was seen as a perfect angle to the female coworkers, and never once came at them with that kind of rage. In fact one of the female coworkers would always come into my office and be comforting after f went off on one of her sexist rants towards the guys. I think she felt bad that it was happening and our boss r was doing nothing to change it. She and a few others were in the same position as I was, we really needed a job and couldn't afford to just quit.

After about a year of this, I finally hit my limit and I quit. I told my boss that his complicity in allowing this sort of environment was unethical and immoral. I told him ide rather have to live in my car, and file for bankruptcy than work another day for him. I thought about a lawsuit, because it was just so over the top. However, who would have ever believed me? I see how male victims are treated in "polite" society and I thought to myself, no way fuck that it isn't worth the stress or pain that would come speaking up. Instead I just sucked it up and dealt with it, because that's what it means to be a man according to the world, right?

I worked as a temp (agency contract) employee on a team of all women (two female managers, five other employees - all women). I worked 40 hour week, they worked part-time and rotated shifts. The only other full time employee was my direct report, but she didn’t get involved so much in the day-to-day graft.

As a result, I had to learn everyone else’s jobs because I was the only one in the office 100% of the time. Additionally, I trained my manager on the systems and processes.

Two years later, a permanent position in the team became available. I applied and interviewed for the job, and didn’t get it, despite being by far the most knowledgable employee on the team, and having done the damn job to a high standard for two years. The hiring panel was three women.

A month later after I left, I spoke to a woman on the team (the one I was closest to), she told me the hiring manager had told her that they “wanted another woman on the team so they could talk about clothes and men with”, so despite me being the strongest candidate by a distance, this is why I wasn’t hired. This was five years ago, and the hiring manager has since left the company. Another member of the team that also has since left has corroborated this story to me. They just wanted to hire a woman.

When I was 18 walked into a pub with a help wanted sign. The owner told me straight that they wanted to hire a woman as they tended to sell more pints.

I don't mind it - honestly I think employers should be able to discriminate if they believe whatever type of person will perform better because of x characteristic particularly in sales - but the brazenness of it did make me think.

The most concerning thing I have seen was probably in rehab. Unsurprisingly addicts often have relationship issues. Every single time a man spoke about it the counsellor would emphasise that they needed to reflect on what they had put their partner through and told they needed to work on themselves and make it up to their partner. Every time a woman spoke about it the emphasis was on what their partner had done to them and they were told to put themselves first and think if he was good for them /often openly encouraged to leave. One man spoke about his partner cheating and was told to think about what he put her through. One woman spoke about smashing her partners car up when she was angry and told she should leave him because he shouldn't make her feel like that. It was always the mans fault no matter the situation.

Long story short, I was denied a divorce hearing because I'm Male, she was abusive and was eventually arrested.. I agreed to help her avoid a conviction if she granted me my divorce. All of which happened because I'm Male and stupidly signed some documents that were to "protect women" I just didn't realize those documents/organization attached to them will "protect women" even if they are an abuser and have no problem fucking a man over

I went crazy studying every hour of the day for an accounting qualification in the last semester of studying for an economics degree, so that I would be in with a shout of getting a position with a top accounting firm, but was still unsuccessful.

A girl on the same uni course as me with slightly worse grades, no accounting qualification and much less work experience got the job I was applying for through a "shadowing women in the workplace" incentive.

I had this job at my college. I was pretty good at it to, I had earned the most points for positive feedback from customers and employee of the year. I applied for a higher leadership positions and got denied. Each role was filled by a woman and although most deserved their roles, there are a few where my experience blew them out of the water. Those same few dropped the position because they couldn’t handle it. I left the job

First thing that happened to me after I was born was getting my genitals sliced up. It would have been illegal to do that if I were the other gender.

I suppose that counts.

After I just described to a couples therapist how I am being abused by my wife, she told me a man can not be abused by a woman. Of course I left.
