ok so i looked through the details(there arent any) of multiple articles, and so all i could get from it was a 7 year old unnamed boy was charged with 3rd degree rape on november 26th/thanksgiving and is going to family court, there isnt much evidence/details. also something about lawmakers trying the juvenile delinquent age being raised from 7 to 12. and the lawyer calls the charges absurd.

Who accuses a 7 year of rape?

There needs to be an Anti-Karen law.

This is a missing conversation in our society. The idea that victims (or more precisely, complainants) have no responsibilities and should not ever be blamed is completely wrong and has clearly gone too far.

Victims (or more precisely, complaining witnesses) should ALWAYS be held responsible for not just telling the truth but also the validity and relevance of their accusation.

The police need to be held accountable, but lets not forget that someone chose to make an accusation. Someone chose to bring police into this matter. To employ a societal resource, paid for by tax dollars, in a vindictive, stupid way. Taking time and attention away from other matters.

Frivolous accusations can be just as bad as false accusations. There needs to be accountability.

We've all seen headlines of adolescents, and even young teenagers commiting sex offences of an adult nature. The culpability of a youthful offender would go down with age

Juvenile sex offences is a lurid topic that should be only informed by the most knowledgeable experts on the topic. Juvenile offenders should not be give the mantle of adult offenders.

If the kid did do something that belays normal development, perhaps he was abused by someone, then I hope he gets the help he gets. I also hope the victim gets help too, the victim is almost certainly the same age or younger.

I don't know how big of an issue this is, because even the allegation of abuse against someone under 10 is exceptionally rare. There was a old headline of an 8 year girl being alleged to have committed "rape". Reasonably so, the article mentioned complaints of the ridiculousness of that term in this context.

While 7 yr Olds are capable of rape (they most likely are the victims of it first) the fact that this article is so vague leads to a great deal of skepticism. Who has accused this boy? What are the actions he allegedly committed? What is the age of his accuser?

(Clarification: I do not believe this boy hurt anyone. Innocent until proven guilty.)
