Actually I think her reaction was due to misunderstanding the agreement that came with her guilty plea. She and her family were under the impression that she was receiving a different sentence. I think it ended up being changed, not sure to how much. She had to have known what could happen and still participated so she clearly deserved being held responsible for her actions.

Edit, and go ahead and down vote me because I don't think this reaction is because believes she should get a pass based on her gender, just a misunderstanding on her part.
