Loving the recent posts about cooking to up girl game!

My friend is doing the same, though may be going overboard. She's mentioned that she's looking for a loving boyfriend and constantly invites guys and cooks for them. She's an amazing cook. And the guys just eat and leave. Apparently they don't believe in love, but she still cooks for them daily.

Anyway, most of them know of me and probably seen me around. I hardly recognize any of them though but I never mention that. I love meeting new people and being amicable and saying hi and making small talk. And here it comes... the uncomfortable part.

I've overheard on numerous occasions, her friends (the guys and some girls) say "She's so pretty" or "Whoa she's beautiful... very beautiful" not to me but it's pretty clear comments were about me, but they say it to her.

And that's where there's tension forming. I get the vibe that she's upset or annoyed or something. I don't know, but it's not a good feeling in the air. And she zones out, and when they mention it again, she goes "Oh? Shes pretty?" trying to look clueless. When I ran into her parents, they outright said I was beautiful and just stared at me for an extended period of time which was kind of odd and uncomfortable, to be honest.

With the others, I just pretend I hear nothing and continue on my way. I don't know... she tries hard to hide her (anger/whatever feelings) toward me, but she's not very good at it. And it makes everything awkward and like getting ready to bitchfight me or something.

I hate this. It's very uncomfortable situation for me and I don't think there's anything I can do about it? Or is there? How to best deal with this or resolve it? (Avoiding them isn't an option since we go to the same college) By the way, she's perfectly fine when people don't compliment me. She just gets weird when they do.

...On the other hand, now I know people find me pretty/beautiful. But nobody is willing to go further than small talk with me - girls or guys. What am I missing here?
