Yeah. And apparently a real shitbag, like tried to get Heard removed from Aquaman, sent texts where he joked about killing her. It sucks but is widely acknowledged be true per evidence and legal rulings. Depp is known for his devoted fan base, so people (including women) are unfortunately defending him. I didn’t want it to be true either but I think it’s important to believe and support women who come forward about abusers, and the evidence overwhelmingly indicates it’s true.

The whole relationship seemed incredibly toxic from what I read, but basically Amber (who I think was 28 when they married, when Depp was in his early 50s), accused him of abuse and shit hit the fan. When Depp sued The Sun for defamation after they called him a “wife beater,” all sorts of evidence came to light.

Thanks for your opinion. I have, in fact, read as much as I could find on BOTH sides or I would not have felt right posting the way I did, nor did I simply read a headline and think “men bad”. Depp is a great actor, but talent and fame do NOT exonerate him from wrongdoing or make him more “credible” in my opinion.

All the articles I have posted include evidence. I highly suggest you research for yourself, too, using the Google “news” filter. It’s true that they were clearly both fighting, but I’m sorry, your argument pretty much amounts to saying “she was asking for it,” and that’s messed up.

As for the finger incident, it SUPPOSEDLY happened when she threw a broken bottle at him, she didn’t like get out a knife and gleefully chop his finger off.

From a feminist standpoint, this is exactly what bothers me about these cases involving famous men. People simply don’t want to believe a celebrity they like did something wrong, so they choose not to.
