As always, feminists are intentionally misrepresenting a CLASS issue as a GENDER issue.

The nobility and landowners were the primary creators, sponsors and consumers of all the art and science for most of the last 1000 years. If you weren’t an actual noble yourself, you were sponsored by one, and thus your work was enabled. The patronage system runs all the way back to Ancient Greece and is foundational for understanding how most of our thinking, science, art, and music were enabled before the modern era.

More seriously, the situation is exactly the opposite. Those guys didn't have to wash dishes, farm, or anything else customary for their time because they were chosen for their talents among a privileged few, or because they were already wealthy. Either way it is completely reasonable for them to have more options than, say, a farmer's housewife with 8 kids. Crediting servants and homemakers (mostly women) and not farmers AND soldiers (all men, basically) is unwarranted.

It is especially ironic that Newton never married, and I think I read once that people suspected that he died a virgin. Unfortunately not many feminists of this variety actually know or care about real stuff like that.
