I think it would be nice if we could keep politics out of most personal issues — if only people behaved themselves. But that’s never going to happen.

You know those weird product labels, the ones that warn “Do not use this hair dryer in a swimming pool” or “This toothpaste was not designed to be used rectally?” They seem so nonsensical and stupid to us, but apparently at least one idiot out there did those exact things. The sad thing is, there’s more than just one idiot out there, and we need laws to protect both them and us, no matter how weird or stupid they may sound.

I’m personally pro-light. Generally speaking, I hate abortion. Yet, I’m too scared of the repercussions if we suddenly banned it. For instance, if we allowed it only in cases of rape and incest, how many men would be accused of such? The rates would skyrocket and innocent men would go to prison, because like I said earlier, people just won’t behave themselves. In light of that, I’m willing to concede and push abortion to the bottom of my political priority list.

But meanwhile we’ve gotta make these stupid laws. “No, you can’t abort the day before you’re due naturally.” “No, you can’t perform surgery on a minor without parental consent.” “No, the taxpayer will not fund it!” You’d think they were common sense, but oftentimes it’s not so common unfortunately. Perhaps politics would stay out of the snatch under normal circumstances, but we gave them an inch and they took a mile. At some point you have to put a stupid warning label on it.

That's odd, there's an old feminist slogan about that...

The personal is political, also termed The private is political, is a political argument used as a rallying slogan of student movement and second-wave feminism from the late 1960s. It underscored the connections between personal experience and larger social and political structures.

The less money used to subsidize everything you want for your pu%#y is equivalent to the amount of politics "on" your pu%#y.

They just want stuff that everyone else has to pay for because they're not making responsible life choices. That's all this really boils down to.

As a female, I will say I think pads should be more accessible. They are getting so expensive for something that is thrown away and is a needed product. Plus in my daughters middle school, she isn't allowed purses or bags in class. To run to your locker, to the bathroom, back to your locker, plus carrying everything in a clear bag can be embarrassing for young girls. Especially when the teacher is timing your absence.

I saw a picture of a sign from the march that said “I support men’s rights to STFU”.

I couldn’t help but think how misogynistic it would seem if a man held up a similar sign about women.

Almost every single feminist I've ever spoken to about the choice issue has NO IDEA what roe vs wade was about. What the legal arguments were and why, exactly, it's perfectly legal to have an abortion. Most of them don't know what the 4th amendment is, and why it's key to being pro choice.

I agree, keep politics out. But that includes everything. I don't even know why a judge or jury should even be allowed to know the gender of a plaintiff or defendant in an era when such things could be concealed. Why is it relevant?

But I'll bet if you suggested women not be allowed to tell the court their gender, and that everything was to be done via text or some kind of technology (like vr) that prevented judges and juries from knowing genders, these same "feminists" would scream.

This goes for all things taxpayer funded. If you're using our money to buy shit, you're goddamned right we're gonna get a say in it. We don't want you buying twinkies and beer with your food stamps, and we have the right to say so.
