Interesting bit from the article;

She has not got any income and has not claimed a bursary she is entitled to or student grant. She's going to start again in January.

Yet, she is driving what looks like a new Audi A1, that a quick check says is £18K + for the base model. Is it paid for, or financed?

Assuming her story is 100% true, I still fail to see how driving drunk was her only option. If some creepy person was following her or whatever, why couldn't she call for an uber/lyft/taxi? Or ask the bartender to arrange a taxi ride for her? Even if the bar was closed, why couldn't she have sat in her car with the doors locked and called a friend?
