Anxiety Looks Different in Men. Instead of coming across as nervousness or worry, anxiety in men often appears as anger, muscle aches or alcohol use—leading many men to go undiagnosed

"They argued the changes were discrimination, but judges disagreed."

The pension age was raised in line with mens. As in, they're exactly the same. What the fuck? How is that discrimination?

Feminist logic is, that when if treated equal to men doesn´t benefit women, then it is discrimination

Given that on average, they will live longer than men the pension age should actually be higher than men's.

How quickly they understand when the roles are reversed or become equal.

[–]onetoothandonehair10 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Funny how they hadn't been fighting for the men's age to be reduced. Feminism is for men too my arse

This woman's acting like she's one of those poor children in deep Africa, with no water, food, electricity etc. In her eyes, that pension would have allowed her to eat food and take baths. Without that pension, she's never eaten, bathed, showered or been warm in her home.

Silly cow

I have to go lookup the argument the defense made as to how it's discrimination for them to receive, what men receive, for the same amount of work because I love to laugh.

[–]armed_renegade 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

They argued that many women took time out of work to care for children, were paid less than men and could not save as much in occupational pensions, so the change had hit them harder.

[–]Allevil669[🍰] 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If that's the case, then why not raise the age, to give women more time to make up the difference?

"When you're accustomed to privilege, equality feels like oppression."

Goddamit I like this quote

It's tough to lose your privilege

They have now been given the opportunity to work for another five years, which should (but I don't know the UK Pension system) both, allow them a chance to earn a higher income than would be payable under their Pension at 60, as well as increase the amount they would be eligible for when they retire at age 65.

I see this as an economic move on the part of the Government in the UK, instead of a push for equality.

Statistically, people that retire before 65 tend to live longer. Therefore, it would be either lower the retirement age for men, or raise it for women.

"We can take this, we've got broad shoulders."

But they can't take exactly the same conditions that men endure.

[–]phracea[S] 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I've always found that term sexist.

[–]Tinnitus_Maximouse 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I've never understood this logic, women live, on average, 5 years longer than men, retired 5 years earlier than men, and therefore paid less into the state pension pot than men, but their the ones being discriminated against?
