nope, americans do it based on sexual preferences. for them, it's a beautifying body mod like a tattoo, which also cannot be medically necessary. americans also only make up about 12% of all circumcised men. the majority of circumcised men are muslims who were circumcised in accordance with their islamic faith.

phimosis can be solved with much more conservative treatments. 90% of the time, it can be solved without any surgery at all. it's no excuse for circumcision.
