This is the infantalization of women. Flattery negates clear verbal consent? I think this definition is wide enough to fit just about every non virgin in America.

This is ridiculous. This ruling is both an injustice towards men by considering any sexual advances made by men such as flattery as "coercion" and infantilising towards women by stripping them of any responsibility for any sexual encounters they happened to regret afterwards - even if she provided enthusiastic verbal consent during the entire thing, her consent is rendered null and void by his flattery. It's a point of view that essentially places all agency and therefore accountability on the man and denies that the woman had any agency whatsoever during the encounter. It's "women are too gullible and incapable to assert themselves in the presence of a big scary man".

Women seem to want the ability to be seen as victims who lack agency when it's convenient for getting others to coddle them and act on their behalf, while at the same time also being viewed as strong and independent and every bit as capable of handling themselves as a man. You can't have both.

They're getting more brazen because they've taken over the institutions and know none of their peers will stop them. So long as they gatekeep those institutions they can continue to behave this way.
