I suggest you do some of the work for them by proposing some specific ideas. You want to make it as easy as possible for them to do something.

I think allowing them with a willingness to help out or even lead it. Make it a proposal in the next month. That gives them a chance to warm up to the idea.

If the school says anything then throw some facts and figures at them about the higher percentage of male suicides and men with untreated mental health issues than women. They could even talk about mental health and suicide on men’s day if they don’t want to talk about history.

Make sure you are armed with facts, eg suicide rates, life expectancy, work place deaths etc.

My school does this, and have received no backlash at all. Now reverse that, and the media would be livid.
