These are both types of systemic sexism against men, and it's something I notice with almost all of these places considered to be the most misogynistic, the worst place for women to live, etc. (e.g. India, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, many Middle Eastern countries, etc.), they're also often pretty bad places for men and boys, as well

The culture tends to function on these very regressive gender ideals: yes, often women are expected to stay in the house and aren't taken as seriously in the workforce. At the same time, male victims (men as well as young boys) have no recourse and get no protection [e.g. a 10-year-old who was found guilty for "having an affair" with a woman in her late-30's, yes the 10-year-old boy was punished for being raped by a middle aged woman]

Men and boys are held responsible for everything, including for their own rape and abuse, in places like that. It's one of the issues I have with when people say "feminism isn't needed in the west, but it is needed in third-world countries!" It's not women-are-treated-like-slaves, men-are-treated-like-kings there
