Or the same work hours.

Let me cherry pick two events and set them opposite to one another to suggest that these two events prove my broad generalizations.
Can't we stick to more defensible and actionable information? Here's a good example:
Despite the fact that prostate cancer and breast cancer kill roughly equal amounts of people, the US government spends $545M on breast cancer research and only $233M on prostate cancer (source:https://www.cancer.gov/about-nci/budget/fact-book/data/research-funding). You can donate to end prostate cancer here: https://zerocancer.org/fight/how-to-donate/.
Tell your friends and family that there is a large gap between prostate deaths and prostate cancer funding from the government, compared to breast cancer. Encourage them to donate!
[–]DownrightCaterpillar 2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
There's quite a lot more breast cancer deaths than prostate cancer, over 25% more, it's not "roughly equal" at all. If you're looking for a big disparity with no logic behind it, it still amazes me that while lung cancer causes over 3x as many deaths as breast cancer, breast cancer still receives significantly more funding. I did a video on this a while ago
[–]Humes-Bread 3 points4 points5 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
You're right that breast cancer has more deaths. But does 25% more deaths merit 134% more funding?
[–]DownrightCaterpillar 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
No of course not, but redirecting attention to prostate cancer is weird, which is my point. We'll save more lives, including male lives, by preventing and curing lung cancer as opposed to prostate cancer.

They still won’t get it. Why bother.
[–]jaesharp 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
This defeatist attitude is a big part of the problem. Things won't change unless we make them change.
[–]godfeast 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Making a woman do anything In this current liberal whiny ass political mire and it’ll just be called abuse and get you arrested.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I don't get how many people believe woman were treated like breeding stock in the 1900's while their grandparents are still alive. The amount of brainwashing feminist have done is insane.
[–]chadwickofwv 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
They are feminists because they are not capable of rational thought. The brainwashing was not needed for that part.

I dont think that this post captures the reason behind this subreddit, as we want equal rights and women was quiet suppressed at that time
[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yep having to gasp stay home and take care of the kids/house while being able to play bridge and have drinks with neighbors was horrible! While men got to dick around and work 16 hours in a coal mine, entitled pigs.
[–]RacelessSexlessName 2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
And the average man wasn't suppressed... Gotcha.
You do know that only those who had money and owned land could vote, right? That excludes a whole lot of men right along with women... Men have never had the same rights women get freely.

That must be why rapists can demand visitation rights in some states.
[–]Halafax 25 points26 points27 points 7 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Do they have to pay child support to their rapist?
Some men do. Yay feminism!
[–]Maito_Guy 10 points11 points12 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
In every state, even if they where underage when raped.
[–]bluehorserunning -2 points-1 points0 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Yes, that is terrible. Rapists of either sex should have no rights whatsoever.
[–]problematic_coagulum 6 points7 points8 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
No, they should have rights. That's what universal rights means, even for criminals.
[–]bluehorserunning 2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Fair enough. ‘No parental or visitation rights, no claim whatsoever to the person they raped.’
[–]Maito_Guy 13 points14 points15 points 7 years ago (17 children) | Copy Link
Way to bring up a totally irrelevant point. When a man or boy is raped and impregnates his rapist the rapist gets custody an he has to pay child support to his rapist in EVERY state.
[+]bluehorserunning -6 points-5 points-4 points 7 years ago (16 children) | Copy Link
See the response above.
[–]Maito_Guy 4 points5 points6 points 7 years ago (15 children) | Copy Link
No parental rights, they still get some, we can't torture or maim them e.t.c. Why did you bring rape up though? It's a common feminist tactic to try and use rape as a bludgeon to derail/silence when mens issues are discussed.
[–]RacelessSexlessName 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Because this sub doesn't ban for derailing like the feminists do and they know they can come here and do it.
[–]bluehorserunning 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link
...Dude. This post is not about men’s issues. It’s about ‘how evil women are.’
I totaly agree that there are specific areas in which women have privilege. That does not mean that women are privileged in every area, that there is equality, any more than the fact that there are areas in which men have privilege means that men are privileged in all areas. This post is just promoting hatred and distrust.
[–]Maito_Guy 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link
It is highlighting the point that women have always been allowed to get away with things that men haven't. How is that in any way promoting hatred or distrust?
[–]bluehorserunning 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link
Women do get away with things that men do not, could not; men also get away with things that women do not, could not. The fact that women have specific areas of privilege does not mean that they have ‘more’ privilege than men, as the OP implies.
[–]Maito_Guy 2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link
You are a feminist right? the movement that does nothing but call men privileged. Try arguing with that talking point on a feminist sub and see how long it takes you to get banned.
Name three things a man can get away with that a woman can't. And yes women are by far and away privileged over men.

1)walking the dog, unarmed, at night and not being blamed or having society ask, ‘What was he thinking?!’ If he gets assaulted.
2)Getting tons of venture capitalist money without being a perfect salesman or a con.
3)Running for a government position with a sketchy sexual past, multiple past marriages and affairs, even bragging about sexually assaulting the opposite sex, and getting elected president.
4)Interrupting the opposite sex regularly and taking credit for their ideas without anyone of their own sex noticing.
5)being assumed to be competent in what they do and say until proven otherwise, instead of the converse.
6)taking care of patients without being groped or harassed regularly.
7)walking down the street without being groped or harassed constantly.
8)walking the dog in a park, at 14, in broad daylight, and not being followed by someone 20 years older, of the opposite sex for a mile.
9)being mediocre but constantly being promoted over more highly-qualified female co-workers, some of whom might have trained him.
10)asking for a raise without facing social stigma as a greedy bitch.
11)Not being held socially responsible for his children’s behavior, regardless of which spouse is the primary caretaker.
12)Not being held socially responsible for the cleanliness of his own house, regardless of which spouse works more.
Etc.
[–]Maito_Guy 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link
Men are far more likely to be assaulted and will get far less sympathy. They will also be asked what they where thinking, probably not as often but it happens. I'd rather be less likely to be assaulted and more likely to be asked what I was thinking.
Bullshit
Bullshit. And Trump didn't admit to sexually assaulting anyone. "they let you do it" he was clearly talking about how being rich and powerful is an aphrodisiac and only the most uncharitable interpretation could lead you to that conclusion.
It's not a strictly gendered phenomenon but people with more neotenous facial features will be taken less seriously and visa versa for less neotenous facial features. This affects women worse as the tend to be more neotenous. This happens to men too.
This happens to men too.
Massive overexaggeration, this happens to men too.
Female sexual predators exist, some people are just walking in the same direction as you and are assumed to be a sexual predator due to anti-male bias.
Bullshit, this actually happens in reverse due to gender quotas.
Clean the gutters, mow the lawn, paint the house, put this shelf up, take the trash out e.t.c. And no men just tend to be the partner that works more. There are lazy men and lazy women but that is horse shit.
So yeah 12 attempts not one thing even close to being exclusive to women and many just totally made up.
