It will be interesting to see if Brie Larson's rants against white men have any effect on the box office. First showing is this Friday, so we shall see soon enough.

It’s a major shame you have to ignore the best critics in the industry in order for your movie to better perform. It’s almost like they are mad their pandering didn’t work. It’s almost like they want to be evaluated by a different standard, but present a success as if they weren’t.

The reason people trust critics is because they are reviewing all movies by a consistent criteria. The number means something. If they change it, the number stops having meaning.

I mean - I am not going to look it up, but who were the critics for Terminator, Alien, Tomb Raider, Scream - or all the other movies with strong female leads that were GREAT movies, some of them becoming legends or archetypes of movies.

Until someone tells me otherwise I am going to assume those critics were evil white men, too.
