Necrophagist.....Let's see if you really can play guitar Mr superstar

I wouldn't try to impress anyone. Play what you want. Trying to impress is validation-seeking behavior.

Iron Maiden Fear of the dark solo.

You impress people just because of the fact that you can play a guitar.

How skilled are you? Who are you trying to impress?

If you're trying to impress someone who knows how to play an instrument you're gonna have a hard time. If you're trying to impress the average girl who can't tell a guitar from a bass, you can play a 4 chord progression and her panties will be wet.

Thanks a lot man, learned this piece. I used to play a lot of classical on the piano but had never heard of classical guitar before you introduced me to it.

Really? You must have a lot of talent. This is a really difficult piece. Classical and Rumba sound really good on guitar. Try Reflejo de Luna by Paco de Lucia. Or Asturias by Albeniz. Scarborough Fair is also a good beginner piece. albertguitar100 is the only good channel I've found on youtube but maybe you can find other channels.

Play whatever YOU enjoy. People will be impressed regardless.

It's not about what you play, but how you play it. Eruption

If you're playing to impress you're doing it for the wrong reasons. Play what you like and do it well, that alone will be impressive enough.

as a guitar player myself, whom loves playing fast metal, my gf tried to shit test me with 'why dont you learn how to play some love songs for me?'.... i snickered and said straight up, 'because i like playing fast metal. thats what i play.'.... a few weeks later. she walks in on me jamming, even though she fucking HATES metal with a passion, still smiles and says to me 'its pretty sexy to watch you play'.....

point of this story: play what you like. its not what you play, its the fact you are doing it for you that creates the attraction.

Wonderwall, obviously.

This is a common mistake of entering music.

Play what you're passionate about. You'll be better at it and have less a chance of being exhausted or burned out. The girls that match will come running.

Source, could've made a living as a top pianist. Still play, but only for me. Turned down 2 scholarships for it too.

If you're not trying to make money, music should be for you.
