It's really disturbing, both how quick people are to stereotype even perfectly innocent men as sexual predators, and how blind people are to actual female child molesters

The "men can't be trusted with children / women are naturally nurturing" mentality is dangerous and harmful both for men and for children

I spent a couple years working for a travel agency for a large American credit card company, servicing mainly to the wealthy. Even wealth cannot buy all men a free pass from being deemed sexual predators for merely being male. To avoid all chances of lawsuit I won't say which company I worked for, but you can guess.

While it still says BA ended this policy, I still had to argue with one of their staff to seat a father next to his child without the mother present. All the other airlines mentioned did the same, some not budging. And I was not allowed to communicate to the customer why. I either had to find them a seat next to a random woman or not book them at all. The presence of an adult woman was the only way these airlines would allow a man to sit next to a child, even his own.

And this still goes on to this day. But you won't see it headlining the news, because it doesn't meet the "all men are predators" agenda.

This kinda thing has been going on a long time. My family booked a trip to florida, sometime in the early 90's. They wouldn't let me sit in the row with my own 2 little sisters. They made me sit next to dad, and mom had to sit with them. It pissed my parents off enough, we decided to drive the way back to NY.

A few weeks ago i looked after a couple of kids i didn't know for a friend and who didn't know me, we didn't even speak the same language, but it went fine, nothing bad happened to them or to me.

Because, like the vast majority of men and people in the world, i'm not a criminal.

It makes me sad most airlines are associated with Australia are doing this though.

My rant. The message this is sending to young men and women is appalling. But you know what f em. In the last few years after seeing this crap creep into my workplace I have adopted a new way of navigating life that basically ignores women and doesn’t engage in any small talk at all. I got some feedback at my performance review that I appeared aloof. I expected this as I heard rumours I had “changed”. So i was prepared. I replied... “I have no interest in gossip, selfies or idle banter at work. You pay me. I work and deliver. I have no interest in mentoring any of the emerging female leaders as you have asked a number of times because it involves one on one time with a more junior staff member and you cannot give me the reassurance or protection that I will not be accused of inappropriate behaviour either now or in the future.” I also asked for this to be documented in my review... verbatim. I am a 40+ professional pulling good $ in a technical field and the push for diversity & inclusion (which really means more women) at the expense of capability has been sickening. It’s no long a meritocracy but a numbers game for shareholder reports and public relations. Don’t play their game. Set yourself up. Eat well. Get good at what you do. Clean your room!

So hear me out, on the surface, this sounds perfectly reasonable to a lot of people because you know "It's for the kids", so we have a tiny bit of danger of a child being molested on an airplane and so WE must act and we must act swiftly. So what if it 'hurts' a few men, we don't care because you know "It's for the kids" and I mean who can be against saving a few kids from being molested, no one that's who BUTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

Kids are in far more danger on an airplane from their own parents, I suspect there are far more incidents of parents abusing their kids on airplanes than there are molesters. I would love to see the reaction if someone suggested that kids can't sit next to their parents.

Thankfully it's only 4 retarded airlines that do that. I've flown in another airline before and I got to sit next to an adult man when I was a kid without any problem. We even engaged in small talk about cartoons and videogames and waved each other goodbye once we got off the plane. Fuck these airlines for labeling all men as predators

And yes, considering that we are now finding out how many young boys are being molested by some very sick women, it makes even less sense than before.

How is this a male rights issue? No one is saying that all men are child predators but guess what? The overwhelming majority of people who would grope a child are MALE. Even if these freaks make up only a fraction of 1% of the male population thats still too much of a risk to the child considering that if something happens it can stay with that child for life.

Stop taking things personally. Its not about you - isn't a childs safety more important than our feelings?
