He’s a dick, but being a dick doesn’t justify violence. This is my biggest problem with the modern left; not obeying their line justifies extreme violence to them. Holding ideas they deem wrong is enough of an excuse to them.

I’m saying that I observe it in things like Antifa far more often. Likewise, it’s far more socially accepted. Idk how many times I hear left leaning people defending “punch a Nazi”, while complaining their voices are silenced.

That said, you’re correct. Violence can and does come from all political leanings. I’m just saying that recently it’s more frequently resorted to be the left and far less condemned by the media and society in general. But fair enough, the pendulum can and has been on the other end before.

I was at a protest event where Antifa did show up in Manchester and even casual onlookers I chatted to a bit thought that by simply going after largely only the footballers there that did get themselves into fights they were pretty much encouraging Antifa to do whatever they wanted.

People who try to use the claim "Oh violence comes from all political leanings" are being extremely disingenuous and trying to shift blame. When one side behaves violently they should be condemned for what they've done as should the other side for the violence that they've committed.

It seems lately because the left has been getting so bad there are people who are using this is an actual tactic now as if to say "Oh, all human beings are bad and get violent so we should just accept that" no, fuck no. The left does behave violently and the police do in fact let them get away with it depending on the area especially in the UK.

If there are still any twats who want to use the line of "Oh but both sides are violent" ask yourself this, if even a random person on the street can go "Huh, it looks like the police are practically ignoring that side compared to the other one" then what does that fucking say about you?

I just read the Wiki article about the incident, not one mention of the "college professor aimed a rifle". I did a little more google searching because you would probably say Wiki isn't reliable, seems that this "college professor aimed a rifle" theory is only propagated on conspiracy and right-wing hyperbole websites. It is very suspicious that this "college professor aimed a rifle" wasn't used by the defense of Mr. Fields, care to explain?

Here is some copy from a news site after Fields was found guilty, "Prosecutors also played surveillance video showing Fields driving his car slowly towards the group, reversing and then speeding into them." There is no mention of anyone pointing a gun at him and it doesn't sound like him shitting his pants and stepping on the gas.

The more I search the less credible it seems there was a professor, Dixon is his name btw, some say he wasn't even in Charlottesville that day. One of the right-wing websites tried to interview him, asked him why he chased Fields, he didn't have an answer and ended the interview. I know you said the professor admitted to pointing the gun, he doesn't look like someone I would take for their word just someone trying to get attention.

You don't have to wonder how my "type" feels it is morally justifiable to omit essential details, I only omit bullshit but I didn't even know this nugget of bullshit when I origingally posted. Now I know. You should worry about how your type believes such drivel.

I have done more research and found the defense did indeed call Dixon to the stand in the trial and he admitted to being there, so I stand corrected by The Guardian on those facts. Your link didn't work.

"Dwayne Dixon testified that he saw a gray “muscle car” drive by several times. He said he yelled “Get the [expletive] out of here” at the car while wearing his gun slung over his shoulder. He testified that he could not see the driver because the car had tinted windows. Dixon said he believed that was about 30 minutes to an hour before Fields slammed into the group with his car." He claimed in an earlier social media post that he had scared Fields away from a park where counter-protesters had gathered about an hour before Fields plowed his car into the crowd.

No where in the testimony did anyone say that the "college professor aimed a rifle" and the time line doesn't fit the narrative of someone shitting themselves and stomping on the accelerator. So Dixon was there, Dixon did have a gun, and according to testimony he saw the car Fields was driving between 30 minutes to an hour before the killing of Heather Heyer and the permanent injuries to many others.

It seems Dixon was of no use to the defense or your argument of a "college professor aimed a rifle".

In the cited article are the TESTS that the US requires to be met to be eligible as legally defined "incitement". It doesn't matter what you feel is "violent speech" as it is very clearly defined. This speech does not meet the test and is therefore not an incitement to violence. And therefore a person hitting this man is committing a premeditated act of unprovoked violence.

You don't have to like what he wrote. You can even hate what he wrote. But you cannot (within the boundaries of legal advice) claim that he provoked the physical violence he received. She could have yelled at him and many other things ... but she didn't, she hit him with baseball bat.

Where they anywhere near a sports store and she just happened to purchase the bat? Perhaps she was taking her niece to softball practice (she wasn't). She went into this looking (i.e. premeditated) to physically hurt someone.
