According to Quorra, civil audit takes about 5 hours of qualified accountant labor. Let's say it's $100 per hour. Assuming camgirling pays below median income, you get $50k income and around $6k to pay in taxes.

Again, my understanding that IRS will need a reason to begin actual audit. They first check the records and audit only happens if there is gross discrepancy between the amount reported and amount observed.

I understand arguments about income tax being theft, but it is very weird the people apply it so selectively. It's almost if there is some double standard of some sort.

I saw a similar count for hours of labor, although 5 was the base ranging up to 10. However the individuals performing audits are generally salaried so I'm willing to write that off as inconsequential. Not that it doesn't exist but for the purpose of this conversation it would be too time consuming to properly estimate out the actual cost in hours/supplies.

I also can see the difficulty in taxing certain professions. It's much easier for a carpenter to hide income from selling a piece of furniture than it would be for someone making an hourly wage (not trying a strawman, just saying that generally "artisinal" or "artistic" revenues are harder to track). I'm in no way using this as justification for individuals avoiding tax, just pointing out that certain individual transactions are much harder to pinpoint as professional income than others. Additionally there's an issue of scale. If I were to sell three dick pics via tinder for a total of 100 bucks (not sure what the going rate is atm, although I should probably value my body more), should I report that to the IRS? If not, when does it become a legitimate source of income?

I think my main point, though, is that this is not about doing the right thing and getting the gubberment their money. This is about punishing individuals the community has decided are taking advantage of gender issues.

No, I'm talking about attitudes in online communities. All anecdotal though and I try to limit my time on reddit too, so very biased. I've never seen so many people defending a men committing tax fraud so diligently, but tbh it's not something I searched for.

With legal means, so I fail to see the problem. It is extremely easy to avoid this sort of stuff: avoid doing illegal shit. Yes, it means more work and less reward, but most of us bear with it, why are you so special?

In my country, government is extremely corrupt and powerful. Whenever some government oficial gets into scandal, 9 times out of 10 it means that it is cospiracy from within. His competitor, boss or underling wants him gone or occupied and leaks some information to media/law enforcement and pressures them to take action. It is literally the only way someone from a ruling group can go down.

But the information is almost always true because it's simply easier this way. And a criminal will get fired or go to jail. Motives do not matter, only result does.

I understand the base legality of the issue and I'm in no way arguing that these individuals shouldn't be paying taxes, but as I tried to say the line between this sort of peer to peer transaction and a business is quite blurry.

There's also a pretty massive difference between a corrupt official and a girl trying to sell pictures of her body, not that the latter is forgivable if it becomes a full time job. But I don't think that's the case when girls are trying to sell tit pics on tinder.

Instead of putting time into reporting these "thots" to the IRS, it might be worth contemplating the gender issues that have made it possible for young women in America to sell pictures of themselves for profit.

All I see is that the best case scenario is that they really are performing as a full time occupation, and register as an LLC before the next tax cycle. Worst case is that some young girl who knows that her naked body is worth money on the internet is audited for like, a couple hundred bucks and an absolute shitload of her time and anxiety.

While you haven't overall changed my opinion, you certainly have advanced it, and I thank you for that. Our tax code should make it more appealing to register as an LLC, and we need to instill paying taxes as part of our patriotic duty, while closing the loopholes that make it possible for multi-billion dollar companies to not pay any tax, despite somehow being considered "people" in America, or the classic offshore holdings approach.

Crazy to think I may have possibly triggered this. I went to tagthesponsor.com a few days ago and was bullshitting about it with others around here in regards to the thot epidemic and how I don’t mind women hustling but the way they are cancer in niche circles like gaming and hunting where they just fake interest to build a bullshit career is disgusting. Especially how they just fake all this stuff while secretly making piles of cash on the side while most people have no idea about it.

Then some dude told me that he’s going to start reporting them to the IRS for lulz to clean it up. Then I started breaking down that there is a profit motive and how he could make a living fixing the issue. Then explained how he and his buddies could get a share of all recovered revenue.

Coincidence? Maybe. But I was talking about this several days ago before anyone was talking about it.

I agree. Personally I couldn’t give a fuck. And I personally don’t like people getting involved with other people’s business. If they want to not pay taxes and take that risk, that’s a game they choose to play between them and the IRS. No one benefits from tattle tales like this. It’s petty. But ultimately just a symptom of the culture war. I think people are just upset with the duality of females. You have the whole, women are victims and treated unfairly in male spaces like gaming and women shouldn’t be seen as sexual objects, then you have females actually exploiting gamers on the other hand by using their sexuality. It’s like okay you don’t want men seeing women as sexual and making sexual comments, yet given the chance, it’s only females exploiting their sexuality to get money. So which is it?
