More and more young men are being raised by single mothers in an environment that stifles their masculinity and sows confusion that can take decades to untangle, if they ever get it untangled. Their social growth is stunted.

Fewer and fewer young men are finding a regular sexual partner. Regardless of how much that has to do with their own flaws, those failings themselves are largely a result of an incomplete upbringing. Boys aren't born failures.

Fewer and fewer men are having children. This, of course, includes daughters.

All the while, men are finding themselves competing more and more with women across all sectors of society. They compete against other men as well, of course, but the point I want to make is next.

Men and women are drifting apart. The core relationships - between partners and parent-offspring - are fraying with each passing year. Each year we have a higher proportion of men with scant positive relationships with women, and vice versa.

And all of this is occurring within a climate where open hostility towards men is tolerated (under the guise of dismantling male hostility ...) and even escalating.

Things are getting uglier.

I've asked and never received a real answer: if toxic masculinity is supposedly any gender role for men that is harmful for men why aren't feminists discouraging men from risking their lives to save others (often/usually women and children) and instead telling them their lives matter just as much and they have no obligation to die saving some random woman?
