"Eh there needs to be a little correction. The article states he refused to find a babysitter and the kids were home alone for two straight days. He has been charged with child cruelty in the past. I'm not sure if that prior charges played a part in his arrest but they certainly didn't help.

The good news is that people have been raising money to help pay for childcare. What is done with this money will determine where I'll point my pitchfork.

I see no mention of the babysitter abandoning anyone.

I grew up in the 80s and my mom passed away when I was 13. My sister was 11. I guess by dad would have been looked down upon too since he worked hard to support us and we stayed home alone when there was no school.

Actually, I've seen the media do this with women who's kids were abandoned by babysitters, more often then men, and not all were single mothers.
