Advertisers don’t care if white men are hated. You can say what you want about white men and even call for genociding them and it’s a-ok in the modern world. Say the wage gap doesn’t exist though and be prepared to lose your job, friends, and career.

This just blows my mind... Do people simply not realize that what they put on twitter stays there? Do they know that spewing forth this kind of idiocy and hate can haunt them for years to come? Just replace white with any other race or gender and see if she makes it to the editorial board then. What about James Gunn and his jokes from over 8 years ago? Got him fired before filming even started - this moron gets to the editorial board of one of the biggest newspapers in the US. It will be interesting to see where this goes in the next few days - I suspect nothing but would be pleasantly surprised if she were to be forced to step down.

Interestingly, their defence of her is, essentially, that she didn't understand the technology. The counter-trolling argument implies that she didn't realize that such postings are problematic on twitter. Both because the tweets weren't replying to anyone, so they were fundamentally out of context, and since they are public, they are directed at everyone.
So they hired a person to communicate publicly on technology who has a history of communicating poorly with technology.
