They are not holding out "for the one". They are intentionally and sensibly avoiding marriage. How would most men respond if they were asked? They would hide behind "holding out for the one". Which is perfectly acceptable in society. Saying I do not want to get married because I will lose my house money and kids when we very likely get divorced is not acceptable yet.

Not surprising in the least. Men stand to loose much more from a divorce, while women only stand to gain (as in keep the house, children, financial support, emotional support, ...).

There is no "the one" for men in these current couple of generations. I don't want the 50s return because I genuinely want equality.

Give it another generation, guys before you even think about having a relationship with a woman. False accusations coupled with white knight mentality means the pendulum has swung far too far the other way.

Either gender subservient to the other causes carnage.
