We already have a number of women advocating for men's rights. We love and appreciate them for doing so.

It is a sad fact that a lot of the population attaches more weight to arguments by women than by men when it comes to gender issues. So women MRAs can be far more effective than male MRAs at raising awareness in many cases. The haters also find it harder to dismiss female MRAs, because they can't just label them as "angry", "misogynists" or "virgin neckbeards", etc.

Check out women like Christina Hoff Sommers, Bettina Arndt, Cassie Jaye, Janice Fiamengo, the Honeybadgers and Karen Straughan, for a starting point.

I don't think any of us have a problem with a woman advocating on behalf of men's issues, especially not if they are doing a good job.

And not doing a good job includes going the route which is prescribed by feminist ideology: Haranguing men to expunge the poisonous demons lurking within them, demons which can never be completely expunged no matter how hard he may try; and, oh, spend the rest of your time fighting the men that feminists designate as enemies. So that's really the only advice I would give to a sincere woman who wishes to advocate alongside men: please steer clear of doing that.

Short answer : no, we welcome your input. Long answer : if you're idea of helping men's rights is by furthering women's rights, then telling us that the trickle out effect of helping women will help us, or by insisting that men's rights should be addressed through a feminist lens, then yes, many here, including myself will be upset.

We would appreciate more women openly advocating for men. Coworkers and friends that I have met with this attitude are often female children of a divorced father that was slandered, financially ruined, and alienated from his daughter(s). They understand that society is not just “patriarchy” keeping women oppressed. That doesn’t explain men not being allowed to parent the children they love. That doesn’t explain how women destroy men’s lives with hate and lies.

If you concentrate on justice and fairness for whomever you are an advocate for, then no one of either sex need ever feel belittled. People know when they are being respected rather than patronised, and if your respect is misinterpreted you can't be held responsible for that.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I personally think it's a great thing when women help advocate for the rights of men and gender equality.

In fact, I've noticed that women are often taken more seriously on these issues. For example, if a man complains about having to sign up for the draft when women don't, he will often be seen as lazy or weak or not wanting to serve his country. If a woman points out the inequality, people will think about it a little more closely.

Firstly, I'm not insulting anyone of you by saying that you guys will get upset if a woman advocates for you guys but I'm just genuinely curious as to how males feel about it?

This is a falsehood, if you truly advocate for Men's Rights (not any of this "Toxic Masculinity" nonsense) then you will find no opponents here. If you try to "solve" men's issues by demanding they be pushed through a "feminist lens" or claiming that "feminism is the only cure" then you'll be met with resistance. Feminism doesn't own men and it sure as hell doesn't own equality.

Solution: Don't belittle them. If you're going with the feminist approach of "Masculinity so fragile" and "male tears" then you'll be resented.

If you approach from "everyone's going to resent me because I'm female" then you're going to have negative outcomes. My question to you is: Why do you think you wouldn't be well received? Why do you think we'd find you "belittling"?

Other than that I'd just suggest knowing some of our major issues. If you know the issues well - or at the very least open to reason and discussion - then you'll be fine. It's okay to be wrong, it's generally not okay to be a jackass (it will happen though, we're talking about issues we all care about a lot discussions get heated, just best to diffuse to situation if possible).

Homelessness

Men are 62% of those in shelters (pg. 40) and 70% of those who are homeless (pg. 58) :

"Adult individuals experiencing sheltered homelessness were 2.4 times more likely to be men as they were to be women (70.4% versus 29.6%)."

Workplace Deaths

As you'll notice from the Census for Occupational Injuries pg. 8 (linked below) men work 57% of all hours worked (women worked the remaining 43%) yet were a wildly disproportionate 93% of workplace deaths.

Minority in Education:

Boys are 30 percent more likely than girls to flunk or drop out of school
When it comes to grades and homework, girls outperform boys in elementary, secondary, high school, college, and even graduate school;
Boys are four to five times more likely than girls to be diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD);
Women outnumber men in higher education with 56 percent of bachelor's degrees and 55 percent of graduate degrees going to women. [Note women still receive affirmative action, Men and Boys have not - even once in any instance - received affirmative action when they are a minority]
Boys make up two-thirds of the students in special education and are five times more likely to be classified as hyperactive.

The anti-male ADHD epidemic - in which boys are treated as defective girls - is well discussed.

As mentioned previously Men & Boys are 4x as likely to commit suicide. This is not likely to be amended without addressing the discrimination they face at the hands of our government and the resulting societal ills (homelessness, lack of education, etc.)

Depression is the leading cause of suicide, the leading cause of depression being Stress. There are many causes of stress in Men's lives, not limited to the issues I've mentioned here.

Male suicide is actually a global epidemic, and it's personally my most pressing issue one which I believe can be ameliorated by solving other issues i.e.: Education, Homelessness, ignoring male victims of abuse (particularly female offenders), and lack of father figures due to biased family courts and unfair custody laws.
