No man would prefer a robot over a real woman but men do not have the options and opportunities that women have, and men do not have the same risks that women have when it comes to sex and dating.

Women take men for granted, because men are socialize to pursue them. Women take sex for granted, because they are socially, romantically and sexually valued simply because they are women. Women don't have to worry about false accusations or social vilification at the whims and feelings of the opposite sex. Men do. Women have reproductive rights and can choose to end the process at every stage along the way. Men cannot. Women also generally do not have to worry about wether or not a guy is just have sex with her because of her status, income or protection, they just know that men want to have sex with them because they find them romantically and sexually desirable.

Any sufficiently advance machines that could offer men the experiences their bodies were born to desire, or that could fulfill basic needs that would otherwise be denied to them, without any of the servitude, belittlement, harm and risk that women often come with, will seem appealing to men. If women were truly concerned about these numbers, all they would really have to do is treat men differently.

"Robots" here might be a bit misleading, as a vibrator can be considered a "robot".

That 9% is crap if that's the case. Women have plenty of socially accepted ways of using inanimate objects to have sex.

Everybody here is, of course, aware of this. Armstrong puts an economic spin on it, but while he has profound insights into many things, I think he's either ignoring or missing the analytical views of others like Catherine Austin Fitts, who sees an decline in population coming soon to an apocalypse near you.

I'd try it, but I'll try anything once. Unless the AI is pretty sophisticated, so that you can actually develop some semblance of a friendship/relationship, I cannot see it holding my interest purely on sexual grounds.

Both men and women want companionship and intimacy, but ultimately women want different things from a partner than men do. It's a lot easier to satisfy men needs than women via robotics and virtual reality. These can't give women wealth or status.
