Former French "Ministry of Women's Rights" renamed "Ministry of Equality between Women and Men" under Macron's new government [Link in French - Details in comments]

The former "Ministry of Women's Rights", now renamed "Ministry of Equality between Women and Men", is technically a "Secretary of State", and although it's hard to translate literally, it's basically a held office with a bit less power than a full-fledged "Ministry".

The woman that's holding the office, Marlène Shiappa is a leftist women's rights activist, but she's working on some progressive subjects instead of just manbashing (work-life balance, childcare issues, etc.). For instance, on the subject of rape, she "doesn't believe in physiological pulsions pushing men to rape" (source, in French) which is kinda good news.

I think it's a small win to have the name of the held office changed from a one-sided perspective to a women and men equality perspective.

Will have to wait and see if this represents a real change in policy or if it's just rebranding a la "Ministry of Love"

That's nice. Let's hope they put their money where their mouth is, and stop advocating for discrimination against men.

I kinda have my doubts, considering that Macron has committed to discriminating against males who wish to run as candidates in his own party.

They rename these Feminist titles and institutions/organizations because they are (somewhat) unconstitutional or against the ethos of how they see what they represent (liberté, égalité, fraternité for everybody, not just women). But very little might change - at first. In the long run it's harder to fight against equality if your "job description" says that's exactly what you shouldn't be doing.

yeah but they still put women before men in the sentence, therefore its still 'women/children first'.
