Labels are a danger. If I say I'm MRA, the listener hears something different than I intended.

Same is true for all labels. That ambiguity clouds the actual issues discussed, so why bother? I'm not MRA, nor MGTOW, nor any other label you might dream up ( although asshole is appropriate ). I'm merely me, with societal positions which run contrary to the norm.

I don't run around waving a flag saying 'I'm an MRA' and shove it down people's throats, but when asked, I say that I believe in equality and that both genders have issues that need to be discussed equally. I call myself egalitarian.

As for how people react when I tell them I'm sympathetic to men's rights, most people actually react positively, it's only a select few (often, unsurprisingly, feminists) who view all people who sympathies with the men's movement as misogynistic MGTOW or Incel types.

I don't use the term MRA because no one I know has any fuck of an idea what that is. I don't really preach either, I just get argumentative when people say dumb shit. Everyone knows I think MGM is fucked and everyone knows I have no tolerance for ridiculous women worsting (stuff like "women are the primary victims of war.")

I mentioned the other day about "men's rights" to my wife, and she just scoffed (and made the face that typically comes with scoffing) and said "men's rights?? ...because men don't already have enough rights?"

I didn't "come out" as such, but I'm pretty clearly an MRA, in terms of the positions I take and what I talk about.

Honestly, we need a better term... I'm already stuck with an acronym I hate (LGBT) and I really, really don't want another (MRA).

Zero bad experiences.

I don't use that label, but I have discussed this with my wife and mother. Neither buy it, or have any interest in learning anything about men's problem.

Eh, My father thought it was fine, and that he'd support me in my decisions, same with my mother. My little brother however, he hates me for it.

I don't identify myself as such or use any labels. I do talk about men's issues to people I know. As long as you know your audience and speak accordingly, you should get a good response.

To my family, yes. It went fine. Got my dad and stepmom to see The Red Pill in DC.
