Downvote all you want, but please let me have an intelligent conversation with someone about this graph. Look at it for a moment. Look how the white is pretty evenly distributed acroos the IQs, with most frequent ones in the middle, rising high in the Y-axis. That's a very reasonable graph. Seems true. But now look at the graph of the black ones. Evenly distributed, and most frequent ones in the middle of it, like it's supposed to be. But look at it's height in the Y-axis. That's supposed to show frequency. But how come, the most frequent of the black IQs, is so low? Does it mean it's not frequent? I need someone to make sense out of that part for me, or I think I will regard it as fake facts. I completely agree with all of you that facts aren't racist, but that's only when the facts are true.

To point to things like black people having a lower IQ or 'black on black crime' being high and then saying, SEE? THEY'RE VIOLENT AND STUPID! LOOK AT THE FACTS AND DATA! is monumentally racist, because you're acting as if the reason that those statistics are like that is just because black people are somehow inherently stupid and violent.

I might remind you of a little thing called slavery that only ended about 150 years ago. Even when it ended the racism didn't stop, there is a part of the 13th amendment that says prisoners can still be slaves, and so in the south the former slaves were often gathered up in droves for crimes such as 'loitering' and thrown in prison to once again be exploited and used as tools of production just because their skin colour made them worth less. Furthermore you had the KKK running around lynching people just because of their skin colour. Even when black people finally got the right to vote there was still Jim Crow. All of this racism, segregation, slavery and violence has a long flow on effect on the black population in America. In fact the war on drugs still has a disproportionately negative affect on the black community. There is a large portion of the black population that grow up in shitty public housing, with parents that aren't always at home or don't make them go to school, and all around them is drugs and violence. Oh and the schools are underfunded and crowded as well. And their parents were the same. So of course they often grow up to not go to university, and to sell drugs instead. That's going to result in lower IQ and higher crime.

It's a cycle of poverty rooted in centuries of racism and exploitation, and for you to ignore that and just say 'muh statistics, black people are stupid see look at this jpegged graph that someone put in this meme' is pretty ignorant and offensive.

But you're comparing murders committed by black people as whole, to murders committed by the KKK for racially motivated purposes. You can't compare hate crimes to murders over drug beefs, they aren't the same thing.

I am by no means saying that murdering people or raping women is fine, I'm not sure how you got that from what I said. Of course it isn't. But if you didn't have black people stuck in a cycle of poverty that's reinforced by racism and oppression, you probably wouldn't have as many murders in those communities. To suggest that they just go around murdering people because they're black is just stupid.

And Irish, Chinese and Polish immigrants are in a bit of a different situation to black people. Coming to the united states voluntarily with the attitude that you can work hard and achieve economic success is not the situation that black people are in. Furthermore the Irish and Italian immigrants did face a lot of discrimination from people like you back in the early 1900s, and it hardly helped. A lot of black people don't even see college as an option for themselves because of the way they are treated by society and the environments they grow up in. The same can not be said for Chinese and Indian immigrants who are able to leave their countries thanks to having wealthy, connected, landowning parents that push them to achieve high grades.

It's important to understand the relevance of stats. Assuming this is true, which I am not but for the sake of argument, there may be general qualities in black people that make them valuable human beings despite an overall lower IQ.

Further, if this IQ gap is true, it's important to consider why. Is it because of socioeconomic status? A lack of access to higher education? Are blacks given the same opportunities as whites to achieve the same levels of intelligence throughout generations?

The answer to the last question is most certainly no. High intelligence is a luxury that is passed down through generations of people who have their basic and intermediate needs met.

That's all assuming that this statistic is true. Which it isn't. Because average intelligence (100) is set based on the testing of all humans, regardless of race. If this were an accurate statistic, you'd see a bump at the average for all races unless the IQ system was inherently racist.

that thousands of years would be directly correlated with g. not iq. iq is only an estimation of g; iq tests are 'better' the more they can remove cultural backgrounds influence on the outcome. Even something like pattern recognition, which is used in iq tests, is biased for different groups.

Its like a group of scientists play a political version of trivial pursuit. Just because they are bad at that test (iq) doesnt mean that they are not as intelligent/have the same learning capacity (g).

This is the kind of split you see in op's post. You are contrasting one group whos cultural background gives them an advantage at a particular test, against another group, which likely has the same g, but is not as well 'culturally prepared' for that particular iq test.

IQ tests are not perfect and are only an approximation of someones g.

I appreciate that some of you do look at scientific literature but again statistics do not allow you to draw definitive conclusions, they show correlations. Everyone here is interpreting this as ->studies show blacks on average have lower iq = black people are biologically disposed to be less intellegent, when all it tells you is a trend that can be explained in many other ways including less access to quality education, higher rates of domestic violence and drug use, poor nutrition, all of which can further be explored to show that it is not black people who are at fault for these things, it was institutions that created these conditions in order to disenfranchise them. I mean shit, white people enslaved black people. They used science and religion back then to justify white superiority, but it was all based on racial agendas. So no, I still stand by my original statement that believing white people are genetically disposed to have a higher iq is stupid. Retarted in fact. Very.

I was randomly born a white male. In American culture, I'm lucky because of this. I'm not a white male because of anything I've earned or attained in life.

The reason you were born white is because your ancestors were white. The reason you're an American (and benefit from being an American citizen) is because your ancestors earned and attained that for you. Don't you want good things for your family, your children, your grandchildren? Don't you want to leave the world a better place for them after you're gone and to also be able to leave them, if possible, with material possessions like a house etc. for them to benefit like you may have (or like you would want to)? You didn't win some random lottery prize, you are part of a family that suffered, worked, sweated, bled, cried, loved and died for you to be where you are.
