Am i missing something here? I understand that it was heartless to smile at that moment but 93 days in jail for smirking? Hardly seems like justice to me whatever the situation may be... Just kick her out.

I'm against the judge here. I know the girl smirked, but stupid judge is acting like she helped the person out by sending her to jail.

What country do we live in where just by smirking, you get sent to jail, and waste 1 day of your life (including other people who have to come pick you up, children who may need to be dropped off at school, etc).

This judge needs to be thrown in jail herself. That's nothing but tyranny right there.

EDIT: I don't give a fuck if she was released the next day. It's still abuse of power, and she probably only released her because she realized the total shitstorm that would have befallen her if she didn't.

Judges are supposed to serve justice. This cunt was having her own personal ego trip.

it is not the judges job to make people feel sorry or dictate their attitude. they are to pass judgement on the case with respect to both the defendant and prosecution based on the evidence and testimonies. they deliberate on the proceedings and make sure that the defense and the prosecution can plainly do their job. if someone gets in the way of that and they were laughing and stuff too loud the judge should nip it. but to smirk not so much. judges are supposed to control thier emotions.

It's great to see someone get punished for being so disrespectful. It feels like justice. However 93 DAYS IN JAIL...for smirking??? Seems a bit extreme. If she was calling shit out or something it would make sense but jailing for a facial expression seems a bit extreme to the point of going too far the other way and being unjust.

If that wasn't a victim or suspect they shouldn't be given jail time they should be kicked out of the court. But I feel that a little to bit of a fringe on the first amendment rights we all have.
