Men need the ability to divorce their pregnant wives, and refuse (just once) to parent their wives' children, whoever the genetic father may be.

Had this happened in the US, women would be rioting in the streets in most cities. While I don't know anything about Uruguayan law or customs, I do like seeing women take a hit on having absolute reproductive control after conception. Men aren't even asked.

Though I would hardly call it historical. More likely an aberrant ruling by a magistrate with "family values" leanings. Difficult to tell from this article though. The translation isn't the best.
