Yeah, he's probably fucked on the 18k. It is going to depend on Arizona's laws on paternity. He could fight it, but it would be an uphill battle.

Your friend needs a lawyer. That's the only advice he needs right now.

Since he didn't challenge the birth cert when he got the paternity test results back three years ago, yeah, he is probably fucked on the 18k. Too bad, he would have had a pretty strong case back then to sever the legal relationship.

As the lawyer he will be hiring will hopefully tell him, social media evidence or testimony about the mother "holding another man out as the father" might be useful, and mutual friends in AZ might be able to testify that everybody knew it wasn't his child from very shortly after the birth. It couldn't hurt.

Hate to say but your buddy goosed is cooked. When he signed that paper he acknowledged that the child was his blood or not. Unless you are one hundred percent sure then don't sign. Get tested.

As for the Child support it self they do not care if all you eat is great value pop tarts for the rest of your life.

Don't make anymore or any less now and if you want toys work for cash. You are screwed if you try to better your self and really screwed if you lose your job.

Unfortunately, your friend may be fucked. The time to contest paternity was when the paternity test came back negative.

Illinois has a law on the books that states that a legal father (your friend), may dispute paternity at any time and begin proceedings to terminate his legal standing IF the biological father signs a VAP, or voluntary acknowledgement of paternity. If the bio dad does not sign, legal responsibility reverts to your friend.

Basically, the state wants two names on the birth certificate, and is loathe to remove one if it can't be replaced with another.

Find a good family lawyer in her area and feel out your options, but I wouldn't get my hopes up. Good luck, though!

A good friend of mine had a kid, signed the birth certificate and 3 months later filed for divorce because she was a cunt. He then did a blood test and found out the kid wasn't his on top of that. Long story short, he got off pretty well, no alimony nor child support, just a clean division of assets.

He hired a great lawyer who a friend recommended. Granted, this was 3 months so time may have been a factor in the judge's decision. It happened in Utah if that helps.

It's not clean cut ever. I have four kids and each time has been a different. Most of the time they ask before the birth and through the process if I was the dad and after the birth I signed some papers confirming child's name etc. for my first child I had to fill out my name claiming I was the father. But with my second it was already populated.

In all honesty he would have pulled a nurse to the side and explain everything.

He should try to take the kid away from her. If she doesn't agree to zero back payments and zero child support... go for full custody.... and take the kid to AZ, where she will never see the kid again.
