Education nominee who dares to mention due process for men accused and won't commit to continuing anti-male Title IX/OCR policy, DOJ nominee who is for the SAVE act (which turns rape allegations over to police instead of being run by kangaroo court) and Trump cutting some of those female only programs.

To be fair, some of the VAWA grants are aimed toward especially at risk children, not at women specifically. There are grants for minority kids in Indian bands, kids in a divorce situation, etc. So, there will be some collateral damage. I would prefer an introduction of a neutrality mandate more than I would cuts, to be honest.

VAWA is the law, and I don't see much changing.

Oddly, if feds pull all grants, and states fund them locally, you'll see more discrimination against male victims rather than less. States like Pennsylvania and New Jersey have been shameless about illegal gender discrimination against male victims of domestic violence until the very recent past (thanks, I believe, in part due to our efforts to advocate on behalf of equal justice for those victims)

Talk about finding a silver lining in a shit policy. He's going to use all those "spending cuts" to give tax breaks to greedy rich fucks and spend the rest of your tax money building a fucking wall and handing out kickbacks to cronies. There will be no savings to the average taxpayer. And many of the other things he wants to cut will hurt the economy and cost us far more money than it saves.

Besides, these savings are trumped up bs. Over 10 years? It will take a miracle for this guy to last 4 years in office. We'll see how long any of it really lasts. I don't believe it. Let me know when there's actually a bill to get rid of VAWA just on the principle of it, because it's a discriminatory, biased law.
