I have no idea what the particulars of this kerfuffle are, but it's completely obvious to anyone who pays any attention that the vast majority of people care much, much more about depictions of violence in video games when the victims shown are women.

Game after game involves the protagonist cutting down nameless male NPCs by the dozens, or even the hundreds, with machine guns and any other method of mass death game designers can dream up. Not a peep from anyone. A game has you kill one woman and people make youtube videos about all the horrible violence against woman.

They're obsessed with snarkesion, and wrote a similar gamer shaming article / portion of an article around the time of release, and censored anyone who had a differing opinion. Granted they edited the article after the backlash, but that doesn't excuse that. In addition, their site's shit in general. Last time I was there (2013?2014?) it was all for mobile because apparently it's too hard to figure out responsive js, so anyone who uses a large screen has to view it in a crappy format.

There's a girl that it seems germane to hit like the other dudes. 'FINISH HER', the game says: I feel conflicted, but it'll be over soon. I stroll up to finish the job. Instead, the control is taken from me by the game, and my character, the Pig Butcher, pins her down and drops his trousers.

This does not belong in a video game.
