I know this article is a few weeks old, but I never saw it until now and thought it would be nice to share some good news for once. At least some judges are willing to treat boys equally.

Cheers for the judge for having the guts to stand up to our feminist kangaroo judicial system.

It's a shame he actually has to justify giving her the punishment she deserves.

[–]ThirdTurnip 5 points6 points7 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Yeah yeah. We're oppressed. We all know that.

But this should be a glass half-full moment. An abused young boy might see justice and a woman might not escape it just because of her gender.

Oh I agree completely.

It's a good thing that judges insert commentaries like this in their statements, calling out double-standards when they see them.

In effect, he's saying "pussy pass denied".

I found it interesting as well. At first I thought, whoa he must be caving in to a lot of double standards pressure. But it could all be an after-the-fact political cover tactic. He might not have been on team vagina all along. He just needed this "excuse."

At least this judge cares about justice--not just with denying the plea deal but with his blatantly calling out the double standard. If only he represented a majority of the judges, but I hope it's not too optimistic to say that it does seem like gradually--very gradually--society is starting to notice women-predators/male victims, and most importantly seriously consider the phenomenon and the damage it causes

Certainly there are still many judges handing out the pussy-pass, but back not to long ago when I was younger--and even more so when my father was younger and this happened to us--there really was no serious, public discourse going on about female sexual abusers, apart from the cliche jokes praising boys "losing their virginity" to older women

Of course these cliches are still very much alive, but I also see them being called out and refuted these days by judges and in articles and in comment-sections etc. far more often than when I was younger and literally the only thing I saw were jokes about it. Maybe things are slowly moving in the right direction

Another knife in boys' sexual abuse wounds is when the reporters say it's very rare, and as you know, it's a cycle of mocking which causes the problem to go underground and appear to be rare.

[–]HeForeverBleeds 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Absolutely. The two main issues are people thinking female-on-male sexual abuse is extremely rare and people thinking these cases are victimless crimes. Because too often the immediate response from the public is either "what she did was wrong, but this is a very unusual case" or "let's not punish her too harshly; it's not like she really hurt anyone"

[–]MRA-automatron-2kb 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yes I agree

If the Alford plea was accepted, the recommended sentence was 10 years suspended, meaning she’d be on probation for the duration of the sentence. Kutzman said that recommendation was too lenient for the nature of the crime.

She got the kid wasted and did something to him. The prosecuter, whos sole purpose is to see that justice is sought, wanted to get this woman out to abuse again with such little resistance that the Kutzman had to step in. At least the judge wasn't in a rush to call his boyfriend.

I agree with the mother in this instance.

“I do not want something harsher than she deserves,” the mother said, “but it was a crime.”

That same prosecutor wouldn't dare offer anything close to that type of deal to a 41 year-old male and a 14 year-old girl.

Seems like more and more judges are seeing the light. Let's keep it up!

But she's a woman. How can she take care of her kids from prison? God damn patriarchy keeping women unfairly locked up. /s

a Good outcome for a change

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Now we don't have to put guns in the hands of the boy like that one guy said.

[–]xynomaster[S] 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's a different story, though. The woman from the last story is still getting probation.

[–]rg57 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It would be nice to see this work in the gender-reversed situation.

But the system needs its pound of flesh.
