I really wish we could give these ladies an island somewhere. Give them an island the size of Cuba or Hawaii and give them ten years to show the world their glorious feminine utopia.

There's actually a dutch show that did this. The snippets I have seen basically showed them blowing through the provisions they had, sunbathing, lots of bitching, rampant theft, and eventually having rescuers come in.

Here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tqfAt7TshLw

Men were placed on another island, and had built a functioning village in a couple of weeks.

. And then bring the survivors back and disperse them widely, so as to sow the seeds of common sense and the wisdom of painful experience far and wide.

Ill informed societies exist under factually oppressed regimes. North Korea, Cuba, and Russia are stark examples, as are developing nations on various continents.

To the degree that ccontemporary media forms primary news sources, much of Western civilization is travelling that direction.

Feelz over realz

[–]Wisemanner 6 points7 points8 points 9 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

It's too hard for them.

[–]xNOM 7 points8 points9 points 9 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Real science is too hard for almost everybody. But the people left standing are predominantly male.

[–]rg57 7 points8 points9 points 9 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Real science isn't necessarily hard at all. All that matters is whether you're willing to question, and whether you're determined.

Thunderf00t proved a key part of highschool chemistry to be wrong, by simply using a high-speed camera (followed up with access to a lab... and proposing an alternative explanation)

[–]xNOM 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Um... what is Thunderf00t's IQ? Are you certain anyone have done it? People with a even a B.S. in physics are not normal people.

[–]TracyMorganFreeman 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah the man has a PhD in Nuclear Physics if memory serves. He's a fairly exceptional individual.

I'd like more data on this please.

The tautology is so plainly obvious and overlooked it is gut-wrenching.

I will make an argument using a certain level of logic and reason and assert something to be objectively true, that is that the idea of objective truth is sexist.

If called on the above, I will claim I'm providing a subjective interpretation of patriarchal standards as unreflectively subjective and thus sexist.

If called out on the contradiction between these positions, I revert to the first argument and hope no one notices.

[–]EsraYmssik 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's called a Motte and Bailey doctrine.

[–]Drippyskippy 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

From the article: "She wants a student to be able to define inconvenient facts out of existence, to be able to interpret the evidence to mean whatever the student wants it to mean."

So if I conducted my own experiment by throwing rocks at a man and then at a woman. Both had the same negative reaction when I threw rocks at their face. However, according to this woman I can "interpret the evidence to mean whatever" I want. Therefore, I decide that when a man grunts from being hit with rocks in the face I interpret that as him having an orgasm. But when I throw rocks at the woman and she says "ow that hurt", then I interpret that as pain.

Conclusion: Men like being hit in the face with rocks, but it's not ok to throw rocks at women.

I don't think feminist science is going to help the human race, but that is just my opinion.

[–]TracyMorganFreeman 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I always found post modernism in general to be a philosophical cry for help, feminist or otherwise.

[–]themoor2 points 9 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Another painful reality here... Let's accept that science and objectivity are "masculine" constructs.

The feminist here is so filled with hate and rage that they cannot simply say "good job men, you got something right!" No. If something is masculine = misogynist and wrong.

A first year graduate student not blinded by ideology could pick out the non-sequitur here.

For someone so retarded, she certainly gets paid a lot.

[+]Lethn -7 points-6 points-5 points 9 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Apparently correct spelling in the title 'are' sexist also.

[–]loafers_glory 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

To what are you referring? There are no spelling, grammar or punctuation errors in either the title of the article or that of the study as mentioned in the text.

[–]Lethn -3 points-2 points-1 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Now I figured out properly what was bothering me about that damn line so much, it's because they've shortened it.

correction: Feminist study claims that objective truth and scientific method is sexist.

That's what it should fucking be generally, while it's okay for short-hand but it's really bothering me the way they've done it and it's because of the way they've used 'are' in that line -_-

[–]loafers_glory 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Dropping verbs like that is a standard construction used in headlines for brevity. It's very common and nothing to get in a tizzy about.

As for the is/are part, sorry but you're just wrong. The claim refers to two things - objective truth, and the scientific method - so the verb must be plural.

[–]Lethn -1 points0 points1 point 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

lol not afraid to admit if i'm wrong on this line, I just think that's annoying way to write, especially since it's not a printed paper.
