$25 Mil still seems a little paltry compared to the ludicrous amounts of malicious bullshit spewed in their direction by rolling stone, but I'm gratified that the case is moving forwards.

Rolling Stone has dome damage to that fraternity and they should pay to compensate. The message should be is that this is what can happen if "listen and believe" as feminists would have you do. It will be an expensive lesson for the Rolling Stone but the whole industry should be careful from now on.

If nothing else, this should prevent others from speaking out of both sides of their mouth in the future. Sad thing is, UVA would have probably stood a chance with their motion if they'd picked a narrative and stuck to it.

Instead, they first went with "oh, this couldn't have hurt any individual members, since we were talking about the fraternity in general" and then when the frat promptly filed suit, they were all "this couldn't have hurt the fraternity in general, we were talking about individual members."

Good on the judge for recognizing and not tolerating the bullshit.
