New reality show called "Bad Boyfriends Club" where boyfriends get electric shocks when they misbehave. Absolutely unacceptable.

But educating boys is dumb right, because apparently men only invest 30-40% and girls 90%? Thanks Intel.

The headline's language is insane:

Father-of-four, 31, is shot dead after failing to hold a door open for a woman at a McDonald's

shot dead: they could have gone with 'murdered'. In fact, they should, it's more click-baity, and the Daily Mail is a sensationalist rag. Nope. 'Shot dead'. Barely one step up from 'put down'.

failing to hold a door open for a woman: not 'after not holding a door', or 'over not holding a door'. Nope again. Failing. Because it's his intrinsic obligation as a man to hold doors for women. He failed, and thus was discarded.

And it's an implied threat to all you men out there: be reminded of what happens when you forget your place.

.

The resst of the article is basically bordering on ranting victim-blaming:

he allegedly forgot to hold the door open for a woman who was leaving.

'Forgot'. His fault. Also, allegedly. He was just a lazy fuck, and he claimed to forget his duty to his female overlady.

death is all the more tragic because he was a very respectful man and would never have purposefully not held the door open for a woman.

.

And not even one comment from the journalist on the insane amount of rage it takes to shoot a man over as little as this. Or the role of the woman. Which incidently isn't reportedly looked for by the police.

What is this?

To be honest, the journalist is heavily biased, or writes English as a dead language, but the comments are pretty much in line with what we're saying.

It's not normalised, they're just trying to pass it off as the new normal.

Her boyfriend who shot the poor man is the one who FAILED to hold the door open so he blames an innocent man.

'My dad would open the door and hold it for the lady but he probably didn't hear her,'

It's sick that his kid feels the need to defend his actions at all. As if purposely not holding the door in some small way would have justified the outcome.

This is actually less scary than the increasing number of women that consider chivalry insulting.

This is why I now make sure no one is around when I enter a building in public. It's literally life and death. Something as simple as opening a door. Amazing...

Or only go to businesses with automatic opening doors...

Why did they not include some footage of the shooter? Could they care less about finding the murderer?

This is probably less of a men's issue and more of a, "That crazy bitch at the McDonald's" issue.

I feel like the point of this post was about how the violence was incited by him not holding the door open for a woman.

[–]RebelWitch 9 points10 points11 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Its clearly a mens rights issue.

Imagine the rage and outcry if the headline read "Woman shot dead because she didnt hold the door open for a man like society expects them too"

God only knows how many men are treated like shit or physically assaulted around the world for not holding open a door or giving up his seat for a perfectly healthy woman. Its a mens rights issue.

I don't hold the door open for a woman anymore. There is so much drama around this ritual. Some women actually get offended if you do hold the door open for them. Moreover, the bitches don't deserve that respect anyways.
