I read this one. The fellow in question refers to the author of 'Spreading Misandry' as "this guy", apparently unaware (by the article's grinning-idiot writer as well) that there were, in fact, two authors, one of whom was a gal.

Also, the cover-picture wasn't someone being strangled but an image taken from the early '80s Robert Longo photo series "Men in the Cities," which is not exactly obscure to someone who is familiar with '80s pop culture.

It's a very well-informed and intelligent account, obviously, that this individuals' easy to demolish MRA inclinations can be undone by an appropriate dose of warmed-over Marxism where "capitalism" is substituted by "patriarchy". /s

I've no doubt some people go from a non ideological MRA focus to feminist ideological focus, but this story as written has a far too eyerollingly convenient narrative in many places.

Every once in a while I’d stumble across men’s rights activists (MRAs) advocating killing feminists, and I’d think to myself, That’s insane. But then I’d do what a lot of MRAs do: I’d say, “Those voices are on the fringe,” and argue they didn’t speak for the movement as a whole.

'And then I joined feminism and heard some fringe feminists say "let's kill all men". What's the difference. Not only is this mentality not supported by the vast majority of MRAs or feminists, it is also illegal to incite violence, so the people that do this are idiots.

If you are making the leap from one ideology to the opposite ideology, you need to check your reasoning. You may just be an ideology junkie that gets caught up too much in movements.

Sure, I considered myself a feminist at one time. I don't anymore, and its not because I changed my views. I still believe in equality for all. I believe each gender has its issues that need to be addressed. It's like I started getting interested in Men's Issues and forgot about women needing reproductive rights.
