Of course they want quotas. Actually getting women to apply to be candidates at the same rate as men do would be hard, because you'd have to convince them to actually take a job they aren't all that interested in that costs them a lot of time and money they would rather spend elsewhere. That's hard.

But quotas? That just gives the few female candidates that got off their asses some free shit on behalf the women that couldn't be arsed to show up. If you were one of those minority female candidates and your female peer's laziness somehow managed to get you a cabinet position out of the deal, for no other reason than you have a vagina, why wouldn't you? It's backwards land, truly, but would you turn down that benefit and that paycheque? Hardly.

That's disgusting, I can't believe almost 50% of women are anti-equality. DO they realise that quotas are anti-equality or do they actually think it will bring equality?

I'm not sure I care very much. In a way male politicians are the worst because they're white-knights. They've fucked men over for years with divorce laws etc. in a way, I think it'd be a good idea to kick men out of senior jobs because then they'd have some skin the game.

The thing that is never really mentioned - when you have quotas, people will generally assume a person got a position because of their gender rather than merit. It insults all the women who actually worked for the position.

The 'funny' part about these quotas is that they will only effect a very small subset of people if implemented.

They will be WHITE UPPER CLASS WOMEN because that is who mostly gets into politics.
