A curious item I have noticed: when it comes to goods and services like cosmetics and Barbie dolls and high heels and cosmetic surgery and "pink tax" items, feminists do not seem to understand the link between supply and demand, instead regarding it as evil tycoons forcing wares onto hapless women buyers who, in the absence of pressures and slick advertising, would not buy such foolish things.

When it comes to prostitution, the feminists charge that supply follows demand and that the buyers are to blame. Their understanding of the world takes place in sporadic fits and starts, depending upon which blameworthy party has a penis.

Does France also legalize the production and distribution of narcotics, and only arrest the drug users who buy the product? Are the drug addicts cruelly forcing people to produce and sell drugs against their will?

If prostitution is illegal, both participants should be punished equally. If human trafficking is involved, the people responsible should be locked up for life, but that doesn't mean the laws should be changed. We don't legalize narcotics production and distribution just because there might be people being forced to do some of that work.

What the actual fuck is this? Every prostitute lacks free will to have sex because they take money? By this twisted logic, everyone who works for pay is a slave.

Prostitution is ultimately a sexual act imposed on a person under pressure: The pressure of making money. It is an act of sexual violence, overwhelmingly perpetrated by men.

Pimping is something that happens when prostitution is illegal. Prostitutes need pimps when they have no recourse to the legal system. This ldea rests on an absurd proposition: that making it illegal to sell sex eliminates the circumstances that make selling sex the best option. In reality it simply pushes them to their next worst option. As usual when the state sticks it's nose into private matters, it only makes things worse.

Why is prostitution, buying or selling illegal is the real question. The problem is human trafficking and exploitation. These things are illegal, there is nothing wrong with prostitution, it shouldn't be illegal at all. The government shouldn't make something personally fine illegal to combat these things, it's like making goods illegal to be bought and sold since some people steal.
