If blatant discrimination is found and the case fails anyway or the side with the right of the employer to fire anyone for anything it would set a difficult legal precedent for women bringing the same types of cases.

Either way lady justice is blind and there should be no double standard whatever that standard ends up being.

This seems like an honestly open and shut case.

The fact that the managers in his department went from 20% female/80% male to 80% female/20% male in 3 years....

You are going to be hard pressed to prove that wasn't blatant sex based discrimination.

She'll end up blaming alcohol or the patriarchy or some other bullshit and win because women are angels.

Good for the goose, good for the gander.

I pray they do discovery and find embarrassing emails with explicit conversations saying to fire more men, hire more women, etc.

At the same time gender balance alone without evidence is enough for feminists go on to assert evidence of wrongdoing. It will be interesting to see if they suddenly demand burden of proof outside the gender makeup percentage alone.

Wonderful to see a suit like this going forward! Anti-male workplace discrimination illegal, and yet the calls for it have been blatant, explicit, and unambiguous.

I'll be interested to see where this goes. My best friend's father was part of those mass layoffs.

I wish they mentioned how many managers were female vs. male. If the pool size is only 5 people - not saying that it is - it's entirely possible that the hiring decisions were based on merit.

Impact the money. This is how we can defeat Feminism and accepted anti-male discrimination. Lawsuits like this will change how many businesses operate.

Female CEOs should always be believed. #IStandWithMarissa

Yahoo has been hemorrhaging talent like crazy, and these mass layoffs only made it worse. At this point it's hard to tell if there's anything but rats left on that sinking ship.

i guess shoes, clothing and hand bags are all the motivation women need these days. Evolutionary speaking ..

I'm of the same view. Companies should be able to hire whoever they like without these ridiculous quotas. If you want a workforce entirely composed of midget transsexuals from Lesotho then go right ahead! The free market will soon dictate that the best strategy is to hire on merit, and so anyone demonstrating any actual discrimination is putting their business at a competitive disadvantage by missing out on talent that their opposition is only too happy to hire.

The issue is that, in this age of madness, it doesn't work like that. If you hire on merit, you may very well end up with predominantly women, men, blacks, whites, straights, gays, or whatever. That ought to be fine, but it's not according to the progressives. At least, not if the employee minority aligns with a "minority". You better believe that a workforce of straight/white/men will be swiftly crushed, even if they are genuinely the best people for the job. Employers are forced, either legally or ideologically, to hire/promote lesser candidates. That is, this social equality crap is demonstrably harmful to their productivity and prosperity.

Getting back to my main point though, if the masses will immediately condemn the straight/white/male companies, it is important that we highlight the hypocrisy when the pendulum swings to the opposite extreme. These advocates are green-haired college girls who have never managed a business in their lives; they would prefer that these companies go under with a diverse workforce (or a "minority" majority) than prosper with the best people for the job. If this diversity were voluntary, I would be right there with them roasting marshmallows on the burning wreckage. But it's not. It is forced. Until these progressives realise how destructive their game is, we have no choice but to play by their rules. Somebody needs to stick up for the guys, because the progressives sure as hell won't.

I do believe that merit and bias are not always compatible though. There's probably been many occasions when the best person hasn't got the job because of some kind of bias. it depends who the person is doing the interview. The problem i have with this shit, when women are concerned is because they use the term equality, and diversity, but what they really mean is power and control, and obviously, in this case they aren't hiring on merit. They pick and choose where they want to be equals also. Its ok to be equals with the clean jobs, but they don't want to be plumbers and have their hands in shit all day.

fuck em. guys have to stand together in the same way is what it really comes down too.

Arse Technica?

Fuck them. Aren't they one of those cunt sites that jumped on the "gamers are dead" bandwagon?

No doubt some cunt will write some snarky article where she holds forth that "men cannot be discriminated against because blah blah blah..."
