Just a bit more pushing for diversity and the end of female oppression, and we should be able to eliminate men entirely.

Novel writing used to be a pretty male dominated field. That changed a lot in the 70's with writers like Anne Mccaffrey and several others who really broke through and went main stream.

By the 80's women writers were as common as dirt and I even remember rumblings that publishers preferred female writers because it was sort of fashionable.

Honestly today with self publishing I don't see how there would be any bias one way or the other. Women probably make up the majority of the book industry because it's a field that provides a high status value for women. While there's no social stigma for being a male writer(quite the opposite, actually), it's just that other financially better fields probably brain drain out the guys that would otherwise become authors.

Someone failed in how to encite outrage, they should have just said "only 8% "differently abled" people" (I put that term in quotes because I think it's fucking ridiculous).
