She was losing her position in the company and decided to stage a fake rape in order to get sympathy and keep her job. Disgusting.

Why was she staying at her boss's house? Seems like an important detail to omit.

[–]juiceyb 20 points21 points22 points 11 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

How? It doesnt state that said boss was in the house. It doesn't give the gender of the boss either. She could have been doing it to try to sue the insurance or maybe just to get people to pay attention to her. We won't know until she confesses to the crime.

[–]duffmanhb 7 points8 points9 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Seems like she was trying to create a huge life issue, to distract people from her leaving. Probably thought they wouldn't demote her if she had so much going on in her personal life.

[–]Creature_73L 13 points14 points15 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Seems like a very misleading title by the writer. If you went off just the headline you would think the boss was being accused of rape, but in the article she claims it was a break in rape. Very misleading journalism.

[–]zackboomer 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I never thought that the boss was the one who did the raping, it says "raped by a stranger when sleeping at her boss’s house" how would her boss be a stranger?

[–]dubersincorporation 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

See? There's your issue

journalism

[–]Zidanet 3 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Assuming that the boss is male and she is hetro. She slept with the boss, then claimed rape at knife-point.

A hundred to one she was pissed off at the boss and wanted to get him into trouble, so she fucked him to ensure the physical evidence was there, then reported a mysterious rape, assuming the poilice would CSI it up and DNA match it to the boss. Bingo Bango Bongo, boss gets in trouble, she gets a promotion and everything is special again.

Typical "I watch far too much TV" plan.

[–]DanielPlainview22 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

She said she was raped by a stranger while at her boss's house.

[–]Zidanet -3 points-2 points-1 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Really? I thought I read that she did it at her own house.

Oh well, in that case she's just a plain old attention whore.

Shame really, I liked my version better, at least she had a plan.

[–]AAonthebutton 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

How did you come up with your version? Did you even read the damn article?

[–]Zidanet 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well, I'm not actually sure how you make pancakes, but I found this recipie for you. http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-Make-Superhero-Pancakes/

I don't think they actually give you superpowers though...

[–]bandy0154 43 points44 points45 points 11 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

When people lie about rape, and they are proven to have lied, they should face the same penalties that someone convicted of the alleged crime would.

[–][deleted] 18 points19 points20 points 11 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

They should have to register under something like the sex offender database. Like a "malevolent liar" database, get a dot on their home just like a sex offender, and be required to have a sign in their yard stating a "malevolent liar" lives on the premises. If someone is convicted as a sex offender, that shit follows them for the rest of their life. Destroying job opportunities, relationships, among other things. Being under a "malevolent liar" database, it would brand them as untrustworthy, equally destroying their reputation.

[+]a_shootin_star -11 points-10 points-9 points 11 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

No that's a terrible idea. They would never ever be taken seriously again. That means actual rapists would go for them (thanks to your map) and do much damage..

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points10 points 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I have no sympathy for them. Especially since to avoid ever being on this hypothetical list, they would need to simply not make false reports of rape. Accusing someone of being a rapist is a very serious accusation to make, with life-ruining consequences. Unless you're in support of people being able to lie about being raped, destroying someone's life in the name of spite, then I don't see what the problem is.

[–]a_shootin_star -5 points-4 points-3 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

You're putting people in harms way. No matter how dumb or bad they are, the government will never put people in harms way like that. Plus you don't know if that false accuser lives alone or not. No that's a bad idea. They don't belong in a tagged home, they belong in a jail or a mental institute. Not treating people doesn't solve shit.

And to answer you, no. I am not "for" people lying about rape. I was just putting the government's perspective. I personally think the people who willingly and knowingly make false accusations are despicable.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Maybe you're right. A public display might not be a great solution. It's difficult trying to find an equivalent repercussion for those that cry wolf to those that are falsely convicted for rape. Being convicted as a sex offender doesn't end after a jail sentence. Most employers don't take the "sex offender" brand lightly. So now, after jail, finding a job is nearly impossible. Social life ruined, financial situation ruined, life ruined.

[–]Computermaster 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

the government will never put people in harms way like that

Except they do with the sex offender registry. All it takes is for someone to get the urge to go on a vigilante streak, and they have a nice little hit list already compiled for them.

[–]Purpledrank 7 points8 points9 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Whoa whoa... slow it down there. Equal rights? What kind of radical thinking lead you to that?

[+]Cysioland -6 points-5 points-4 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

He probably can't get laid, and hates women because of that. /s

[–]Genghis_Frog 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

In general I agree with this idea, but because she didn't accuse anyone specific, I'm not sure what should happen to her. She should get in some kind of trouble, but I don't think facing the same penalties as a convicted rapist is the answer in this scenario.

[–]BitingInsects 6 points7 points8 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Zero morals.

[–]berger77 7 points8 points9 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Good to see she is now being charged. Lets see if she gets any time.

[–]teamevil 9 points10 points11 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

She got bigger as the article went on.

[–]TurquoiseCorner 4 points5 points6 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That is one scary looking woman. She looks like a demonic mannequin

[–]lordlicorice 19 points20 points21 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

they found no footsteps in the snow surrounding the house

Are you fucking kidding me.jpg

[–]smacksaw 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

She might have been assaulted by a drone. Or a spectre.

[–]Purpledrank 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Probably alludes to why she was going to be fired.

[–]thelordofcheese 12 points13 points14 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

The only reason they are charging her is because she is a post-wall and no male was charged to give their precinct a black eye.

[–]Purpledrank 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

She probably got away with this kind of victim drama when she was younger. Just the idea of a 20 something maiden being raped and police doing nothing looks bad, even if she fabricated the story. Most people will hear only the rumors and crafted narratives of the police letting rapists go.

[–]Purpledrank 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm a woman who was just raped! They have to believe me!

It's pieces of shit like this that feminists need to speak out against, as she is really hurting actual victims. Actual victims who now may be suspected of lying, or who will be secretly investigated for a fabricated story (wasting time on the case). Yet it's strange, not a single third wave feminist will condone her actions. I guess they rather hurt future victims than to close the old he raped me! loophole. Disgusting.

[–]Minardi-DK8 points 11 years ago [recovered] (8 children) | Copy Link

I will never understand why the police leak their investigational methods.

[–]Zidanet 7 points8 points9 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

They don't, the newspapers do.

All evidence entered into court has to have a chain of authenticity with it,to prove that it hasn't been tampered with. Because court records are public information, you can actually go into court and hear them explain how they collected the evidence and what has hapenned to it.

If you go down to the court-house, you'll regularly see reporters hanging around in the public observation galleries, keeping an ear out for exactly this sort of disposable headline. They just listen out for the interesting cases and evidence, and write up a story about it.

The police don't want to tell criminals how to avoid being caught, the newspapers want curious people to see semething new.

[–]shaunsanders 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

To be fair, this is also how groups figure out when police have fabricated evidence in order to get someone falsely convicted. Transparency is a double-edged blade.

[–]Zidanet 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Oh, I wasn't saying it was a bad thing. The level of transparency is awesome.

The downside of criminals seeing how people got caught is actually minimal, because criminals are by and large, stupid.

[–]imtoooldforreddit 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

So you would prefer a secret trial in which the cops just say "trust us, we have really good evidence of this crime"

I'm really glad this country doesn't work like that

[–]stanhhh 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Detterence perhaps? After all, discouraging crime is better than resolving it . But that maybe a bit idealist of me.

[–]shdwtrev 3 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

None of that utopia nonsense!

[–]tifu_throwaway123 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I was just about to post this.

Glad to see things might be returning to normal sane and equal terms.

[–]ryuut 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If the fitbit said noone hit it, you mustaquittit

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

What was the purpose? I am very confused as to what lying about being raped gets her?

[–]nameiscubanpete 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I might be stoned, but I swear you can see the lack of decency in her eyes.

[–]bryanrobh -1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I would say 3-5 for this

[–]Purpledrank 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

3-5 hours of community service?

[–]bryanrobh -1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Years in the pen.

[–]RoogDoog -1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

All women should be required to wear fitbits? Is that wrong?
