I think it's interesting to note that whenever you read of someone shielding someone else from gunfire, it's almost ALWAYS males protecting females. I remember when the Tunisia shootings happened earlier this year, several British tabloids noted men who shielded women from fire.

Men dying for women is an unthanked role males have in our society. Anything from taking bullets to standing up on the subway, men placing women's comfort before their own seems to be a societal norm that feminists conviniently forget. I've seen more instances of men taking bullets for women to save them than I've seen women give up their seats for elderly or disabled men.
