The ex-boyfriend doesn’t respond physically, but he blocks the door and refuses to move when Rousey tries to leave. “I punched him in the face with a straight right, then a left hook. He staggered back and fell against the door,” Rousey wrote. “… I slapped him with my right hand. He still wouldn’t move. Then I grabbed him by the neck of his hoodie, kneed him in the face and tossed him aside on the kitchen floor.” Rousey goes on to write that the ex-boyfriend jumped in her car and, when he wouldn’t get out, she hauled him out by the neck of his sweatshirt and left him writhing on the sidewalk.

He continued to try to stop her from leaving while she was "beating the shit out of the guy".

I'd be wary about meeting people like you in private myself in case you ever lost your shit.

I guess this slimy threat narrative tactic isn't limited to feminists.

it's hardly a threat narrative, yes, he's being a total cunt and not leaving but if he's not actually being violent then unfortunately in this situation you do need to call the police so they can see what's going on and have him hauled away.

Then if necessary, get a restraining order against the twat, that's how you do it if you want to stay within the law. Frankly, I don't see why she couldn't have thrown him out without the beating and taken the keys if that's how he kept fucking around with her.

I grant that it must be an extremely stressful situation with somebody behaving like that but there are ways to deal with it without being a cunt yourself. You always exhaust all diplomatic and peaceful options before you get into a fight with someone, otherwise that's going to be used against you in court.

That's something a lot of people here and everywhere on the fucking internet don't seem to get when they try to act like tough guys. Ronda obviously won't have as big of a problem with this because she's a woman and the courts will always go easy on her but if any of you lot try this you'll end up in jail fast.

That's just the point I'm trying to make, I'm not necessarily siding with the guy, he was clearly a big cunt, but equally you don't pull shit like this unless you have very good lawyers as Ronda could clearly afford or know what you're doing properly.

Too many people on the internet act like fucking chavs and think they can just pick fights with people and throw punches without any consequences.

But this guy was asking for it. He was barring her exit and while enduring her onslaught refused to allow her to leave. He follows her to her car and gets in it to try and prevent her from leaving.

Right...So if a woman blocked a doorway to prevent a man from leaving, I'm sure we'd get the same non-reaction from the media if the man proceeded to punch her, throw her, and knee her to the face. And if any body did try to call him out, we could just have you tell them she was "asking for it." (BTW feminists LOVE the phrase "she was asking for it", try saying it around them sometime)

I know I've lost count of the number of times where when the genders were reversed, feminists were the first to say: "Stop! First let's find out the reason he hit her!"

She slapped him first, which was not justified, but you're right--after he blocked the door, she is cleared to use the necessary amount of force to remove him, and if he responds with force of his own, she can protect herself.

That's not what happened, though. Her assault was rather over the top, wouldn't you agree? I mean if she'd warned the dude to get out of her way, and he didn't, and then she hit him, fine, that's reasonable. However, repeated blows and a knee strike... I don't know, I think that's a bit much.

However, I also want to say that Ronda Rousey is a fucking hypocrite. She wanted to beat up Kim Kardashian because a sex vid she made got leaked, forget that Kim sued the company that released it and settled for millions, and it turns out that she did pretty much the same thing, except she beat the crap out of a guy to "prevent" her own nudes from getting released? Fuckin' Hell, what an idiot. It's not Kim Kardashian's fault that she got more famous, rich, well known and successful than Ronda Rousey.
