"Toxic masculinity" is a perfectly good term, but it's been made worthless by anti-male feminists.

The term doesn't mean that masculinity is toxic or bad. It refers to the specific situation where a man is doing things that are harmful to himself or others, in an effort to live up to traditional male gender roles. A man wants to look cool in front of his friends, he wants to look like a dominant "alpha male" who doesn't take shit from anyone... so he treats other people like they're beneath him, or he doesn't seek medical help when he needs it, stuff like that.

It's good to have a name to address that particular kind of harmful behavior.

The problem is that all the hateful feminists misuse the term and apply it to any situation where any man does something negative, or to actually try to say that all forms of masculinity are toxic.

Because of crap like that, men object to the term even when it's used correctly, because they've been taught that it's an attempt to say that being male is a bad thing.

I think the term is poisoned now, because it's used incorrectly so often that when you try to use the term, it makes your point less likely to be understood. And if a phrase accomplishes the exact opposite of the goal of communicating your meaning accurately to another person, then it's useless.

As for OP's video: It's well put together, you communicate well and the images are well done. (maybe leave them up a bit longer before switching back to the "quiet plate" image?) But I think you're a little off target about part the meaning of toxic masculinity... it's not that things like physical strength are bad. And of course many women would rather choose a fit and strong man than a skinny weakling. But the phrase toxic masculinity is about the idea that men HAVE TO be big and strong... the idea that if you're skinny, or soft spoken, or sensitive, you're "not a real man" and that something's wrong with you. These gender roles are harmful to men who don't fit them well, and occasionally some men do some stupid things to try to live up to them.

Good video. Easy to listen to and follow. Tbh im not sure how much of your good points stuck with me 5 minutes after the video, but I enjoyed it while I listened.
