"A lot of workplaces think it's acceptable for women to work flexibly, but they have a problem with men". This is apparently a problem because it might inconvenience the primary victims, their wives.

Oh for fucks sake, even the guardian picked up this story, I'm convinced now that tumblr feminists and guardian writers are colluding with each other for them to write this bullshit.

This is the year of sympathising with Jennifer Garner, not some nanny-diddling Ben Affleck type; of applauding Susan Sarandon for dating a much younger man and looking down on Mel Gibson for doing something similar;

Oh, fuck off. You're not even pretending it is about equality anymore.

I recall Mrs. Piggy as an abusive, controlling, emotional time-bomb. She'd openly punch Kermit in the face and it was "funny".

I'm sure a clever writer with a more progressive view of DV could re-write this article from a much different perspective.

I recall Mrs. Piggy as an abusive, controlling emotional time-bomb

I think that's usually explained away as a "harmful stereotype against women". Though they seem not to have spotted it yet.

I think I'm gonna write up a sympathy piece for Kermit when I get home.

Fantastic!

I was thinking about it later. Ms. Piggy was jealous, possessive, narcissistic, violent and generally selfish and unreasonable. Always playing the victim.

Check this out, pulled from her wiki page:

Miss Piggy began as a minor character on The Muppet Show TV series, but gradually developed into one of the central characters of the show. She is a pig, specifically, a mangalitsa[citation needed] who is convinced she is destined for stardom, and nothing will stand in her way. She has a capricious nature, at times determined to convey an image of feminine charm, but suddenly flying into a violent rage (accompanied by her trademark karate chop and "hi-yah!") whenever she thinks someone has insulted or thwarted her. Kermit the Frog is often the victim of her domestic violence. When not sending him flying through the air, she often smothers him in (usually unwanted) kisses. Frank Oz assigned hooks or personalities to each Muppet. Miss Piggy's hook was a "truck driver wanting to be a woman".

Shit, now somebody's going to have to edit a video montage of everytime she assaulted Kermit.

And a Robot Chicken style filmeo of Kermit being arrested for trying to defend himself. Getting falsely accused, divorce raped and eventually socially shunned.

"It ain't easy being green."

"No Kermit, Green is cool, it's just that you've been in this abusive, toxic and co-dependent relationship and it's really had a negative effect on your self esteem."

This is a gold mine!

I was probably around ten when I realized that that pig was a pig. I knew Kermit was in an abusive relationship. I even asked my parents about it. They confirmed it and decided that I wouldn't watch it again. It doesn't take much to realize that someone that hits, kicks, and bites like she does is abusive.

I remember feeling bad for Kermit and not liking her. Also I have this instinctive dislike of blonde, chubby pug-nosed woman ever since. And an affinity for frogs. Go figure.

Nowadays, Miss Piggy is a beloved feminist icon

Which tells you everything you need to know about modern day feminsim, when they decide to give a feminist award to a fucking muppet pig. And I can't stop laughing my ass off that the "feminist pig icon" has been "controlled" by... 2 men. :D

Will these people realize what a complete joke they have become...

Kermit the Frog's new girlfriend is younger, thinner

Yea, how dare they make the new pig younger and thinner. We all know that a modern day "real" woman is a land whale. Oh, and she also must be hairy, let's not forget hair. Hair and obesity is what feminist strive to achieve nowadays, such high standards, such awesome goals!

I seriously can't stop laughing at such monstrous level of stupidity. You know that you've hit rock bottom when your feminist "icon" is an old, fat muppet pig... Not the portrayal of actual strong women like Black Widow by Scarlett Johansson or Furiosa by Charlize Theron but a pig... a fucking muppet pig. Keep digging, feminism, but I'm afraid you're already on the bottom anyway...

lol this is too good, feminists really are toddlers.

cookies colouring books and bubbles to cope with the change in miss piggy.

genuinely fucking hilariously pathetic.

[–]McFeely_Smackup 3 points4 points5 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Maybe Kermit broke up with her because of the years of violent abuse, and started seeing Denise because she's a nice person...you know, looking beyond the physical appearance?

Apparently feminists only see body types, and can't recognize abuse when they see it.

[–]SporkTornado 2 points3 points4 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Miss Piggy is a beloved feminist icon who covers Bitch Better Have My Money and Fuck the Pain Away.

Feminists claim that the media at large and the MRM support and idolize men who beat women. I can't think of any sympathetic male character in any TV show. Who beats his girlfriend or wife as much miss piggy beats Kermit the frog.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Really? This is a story? Two hands wrapped in felt making funny voices and telling fictional stories and committing pseudo-cartoon levels of violence, and we're supposed to take this seriously?

I just... can't.

The author looks like a moss piggy, may explain why she takes this stance hahaha

[–]rapiertwit 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If they kept the old Piggy, they'd be perpetuating the trope of the emotionally unstable harpy.

[–]noloco 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

This is one of the dumbest articles I have ever read. Talk about reaching...

Then I read this comment, and laughed and laughed...

Has anyone else noticed that the author somewhat resembles the new pig... only the author is fatter... http://www.singledudetravel.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/megan_carpentier_totally_looks_like_denise_the_pig.jpg

[–]boringcarpets 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

...so she resembles the old pig

[–]ModernApothecary 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It can be tough to work with your ex … It can be tough to be the executive producer on your ex’s late-night TV show, especially when your ex is a pig. I don’t know whether any of you have ever dated pigs.

ahahahha
