Found this on the front page of Yahoo!. Briefly grazes on the "wage gap" but properly attributes it to lower paying jobs and advises women to be responsible & save more for retirement due to longer life expectancy. Good journalism here for a change.

Here is a (archived) link provided to me as to why MRAs are "hateful" with direct mention of this sub. Strangely, it gives no evidence to back it up, just claims so. Since when is asking for equal treatment hateful?

Married woman "allows" her boyfriend to live in a 2'x8' upstairs closet, but according to this commentator, it's ok because he has everything he needs, including his Nintendo. (full story ends up being a pp-denied, only this woman's comment is relevant)

"Don't worry about what might happen, just get married!"

Yeah, easy for women to say.

I know, despite 70% of all divorces are initiated by women and 90% by women among college educated couples.

Where can I get those stats? :)

Don't worry about what might happen, just sign that prenup!

[–]MaestroLogical 5 points6 points7 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

In our current feminist society, prenups are a joke.

"Your honor, he flat out refused to marry her unless she signed the prenup, therefor she only did so while under duress."

"Prenup null and void"

"Marriage is a leap of faith." Yes, for men that is an understatement. A foolhardy leap of faith into the abyss.

[–]TheRedThrowAwayPill 10 points11 points12 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

You guys all got that message right?

"DON'T MARRY HER!"

The more seamstress bodies are left in the wake of rad-fem the quicker its demise.

Actually, Erin Pizzey said the younger generation of women are already responding to MGTOW, and agree with her that women need to work together with men to fix this problem. Probably those in early 20s and younger. Women who identify themselves as feminists are also fast diminishing. It's close to just 20% now.

Women are safe to jump in blind, men are not. So that won't sell. Legislative changes and some cultural mentally adjustments need to happen to really make it sensible for men.

The problem is that marriage is not an equation to be solved – there’s no formula to get it right.

Tell That to every woman who "plans" her wedding. Tell it to all the bridezilla's who plan every minute detail, statistically, with KNOWLEDGE of every flower, every reserved card on the tables, every RSVP, every bridesmaid's dress, every date and time, every food item and place-setting at the reception.....

not faith in random luck.

Tell that to the industry of "WEDDING PLANNERS" that exists to plan your wedding, because WOMEN want it assured to go according to PLAN.

At the end of the day, we need to be comfortable with the fact that marriage is a leap of faith.

No, it's not faith, any more than it's a leap of "faith" how you choose your friends, or your job, or where to live, what products to buy, what locations to travel, or anything in life. It's insanity to randomly expect life to work out for you.

Who the hell randomly chooses a date regardless of their features and personality, etc? Why do entire dating industries exist to match people based on metrics, where the more data is known, the better the match can be ?

  • See a dark alley? don't walk down it
  • see a dodgy looking person walking on the same side of the street? cross to the other side or get off the street at the next turn, etc.
  • don't like the neighbourhood? don't live there/move/etc
  • Food looks off/bad ? don't eat it.
  • don't like your weight/health? start taking measurements and diagnosing stuff, maybe see a nutritionists or even a Doctor.
  • don't like the school/college/university? choose a better one that suits your needs
  • don't like people who treat you badly? don't invest in them and find better people you like
  • don't like the job offered? find a better one.
  • don't like your abusive spouse ? call the police, leave them, get them prosecuted/jailed.

who in their right mind throws caution to the wind and expects "life" to deal them a winning hand ?

we calculate and process our environment, and everyone in it, as best we can to achieve the outcomes we want. We have standards of living and behaviours we expect from the people we let into our lives.

we certainly don't jump on random buses full of strangers with no known destination and expect to end up in happy land.

There are just some things that are unknowable about marriage, and about your partner, before you tie the knot. And that’s OK.

No it's not OK, we make decisions by knowing "enough" about the important things, so we "win" and get happier. We most certainly do no live our lives by making random choices (effectively not choosing) based on a complete lack of evidence.

No matter how much planning or forethought goes into a relationship, it may work out and it may not.

Yes, that's the point of learning, and making calculated decisions based on KNOWLEDGE. This woman is literally suggesting the scientific method and intelligence itself are less important than...."BLIND FAITH".

this woman is a moron.

[–]elwahrio -2 points-1 points0 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

don't like your abusive spouse ? call the police, leave them, get them prosecuted/jailed.

A little off topic, but this sentiment bothers me. It is almost never as simple as just leaving an abusive spouse. The most likely time for IPV homicide to occur is immediately after the spouse tries to leave the (more) abusive spouse.

The police can't just lock up the abusive spouse for life straight away. That is a violation of due process. The best they can do is arrange an AVO. But guess what? More than half of IPV homicides where the spouses have recently separated already have AVOs issued. A piece of paper doesn't stop a heartbroken, emotionally volatile (ex) spouse from murdering you.

On the whole, it's just a shit situation, where the victim loses regardless of outcome.

[–]p3ngwin 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

you're missing the point about "statistics v's faith". I never implied anything about how easy any decision would be, i simply described the way the human brain makes decisions.

She thinks it's best to ignore knowledge or any form of decision making process using data and priorities, etc and to simply make ransom choices on "faith".

if you want to do something about your life, be it any change at all, it's based on knowledge and preference.

you compare what you have to what you want to have, then act accordingly.

Her idea of "you can't control everything so just take a leap of faith" is bullshit, because we all make decisions based on information, which is exactly what statistics is about.

[–]chocoboat 3 points4 points5 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

A long term relationship is a journey you take together, regardless of whether you're married.

A leap of faith? Well, she's right about that. You're putting your ass on the line in a voluntary leap of faith, hoping you won't be one of the unlucky men who get screwed over horribly in an ugly divorce.

Sorry lady, if you want to encourage more men to get married, you're going to have to find actual reasons in favor of doing it. Shaming, and "who cares, just do it, yolo!" aren't going to get the job done.

[–]Vires-acquirit 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

My god.. Can you imagine the milquetoast doormat she is married to.

I read somewhere the divorce rate for people born after 1980 is 70%.. Why would I ever agree to odds like this? Why are women so fucking adamant about this shit? I hope the girl I'm seeing now doesn't start with this nonsense.

[–]Lethn 3 points4 points5 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

All your wealth are belong to us.... That's why I think at least SOME women want marriage so badly. Others are clearly just wanting a long term relationship, but a lot of them I think really do have an agenda.

[–]Vires-acquirit 3 points4 points5 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I'm fine with a long term relationship, but why do I need to get the state court system involved? Doesn't the government encroach on our lives enough already as it is?

[–]Lethn 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well that's how I feel as well about the whole marriage thing really :P if a woman wants a long term relationship with me than that's great, but fuck getting married.

[–]liuetenantwaffleiron 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

We call this "hitting the wall. Hard."

[–]RedditorJemi 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well, you heard it from the bitch herself, don't get married. This is why the heterosexual feminazis are 100x worse than the lesbian feminazis. It's really hard for lesbian women to hurt men. Really hard.
