The biggest question that came into my mind after seeing this is would they have shot if it was a woman? No. I firmly believe they wouldn't have. And that makes me sick to my stomach, on top of everything else about this situation.

Somehow I doubt a suicidal white male is going to garner national attention when he was obliterated by gunfire but hey, kudos for sharing on this forum.

We often forget that even in this setting white males are "privileged" most of the time and the only thing you see are race baiting stories even on this subreddit.

The man was laying in bed with a knife threatening to harm himself...this is a far fucking cry from a black man running from the cops or attacking them so naturally it won't garner national attention. Hell Robin Williams couldn't even motivate the nation to look at why white men kill themselves 90% more than any other demographic.

Are we just going to post every violent thing that happens to a man now? I understand the reverse gender argument but that works for almost everything we see, that doesn't mean this sub should just repost everything from the news.

Basically the girlfriend provided the means for her boyfriend to kill himself. By bringing the police into it, she greatly increased the odds that he was going to die that day.
