I knew the comments on that story would be bad, but man oh man.

The first four:

"Yes we all know it`s wrong but thinking back to when I was 16 or 17 if a teacher who looked liked that wanted to have an affair with me. I would of been more than willing and No I would not have been traumitized. BEST MOMENTS OF MY HIGH SCHOOL YEARS!! :)"

"Those three "boys" deserve nothing nice for the rest of their lives. Why? Because they were given something nice and they couldn't keep it to themselves. I feel sorry for the HOT teacher."

"Sex ed is an important part of the curriculum. Sixteen and seventeen year old boys might be minors by legal definition but they are physically mature and on the hunt. Having a son who has a fling with a beautiful female teacher is preferable to a priest."

It is sad that these people are in an adult positions of trust and break that trust to molest teens / children. Male teachers have been getting long term sentences for the same crimes, while female teachers get a tap on the wrist. Thanks to their religion - Feminism. Soon they will water down the charges for sexual exploitation (sex offenses) and so on. This will help open the door for pedophilia becoming legal and so on. Once they water down the laws that protect the young, the big winners (over all) will be Perverts, Pedophiles and Sex Offenders .. Even the violent ones! The sign of the times is degeneracy. This Term-degeneracy—sums up all that is happening to the USA / The West. Depravity and more depravity.

On one hand, she abused her position of power to manipulate her students into having sex with her.

On the other hand, I believe 16-17 is old enough to provide meaningful consent and it appears these boys have come on record to say they were involved and consented to the behavior. If they had come out against her and stated they were violated or hurt in someway, then I'd be more in favor of throwing the book at her. But 17 years old, I believe, is old enough to make your own decisions and it doesn't appear violence was used during the 'courtship' of the teacher and the students.

I don't necessarily believe the label 'rape' should be applied in this situation. It is, by law, 'statutory rape', but personally I think the word rape should be reserved for forcible violation of one's body. The word is thrown around far too much these days. That said, statutory rape laws need to be looked at again, there are far too many people being charged with heinous crimes for which there is no victim.

I have to call BS on the OP.

Just as when a man is accused of rape, the burden is on the prosecutor. The burden is to prove a violation of the law. The Accused is innocent until proven guilty. She accepted a plea for sexual abuse, not sexual assault. The accusation of rape, sexual assault, is unproven and will not be proven.

She is convicted of sexual abuse, so she is a child molester. She was not convicted of sexual assault, so she IS NOT a rapist.

I want one set of rules for both men and women, and will defend the rule "innocent until proven guilty" regardless of the gender of the accused.

Odd that there is no "by line". Often Andres Jauregui writes these teacher rape articles and he usually calls it rape, I wonder why some don't.

She was in a position of power, and they were minors! Who cares if they were/are hormone driven teenage boys that would've "enjoyed it"... there are laws and standards for a reason, you are scarring a developing mind and are likely creating the next generation of mentally and emotionally stunted men, who will likely serve a lifetime sentence for an arguably "tamer" crime

It's a wildly inappropriate thing to do, rife with potential for abuse. That's why you fire her, bar her from ever teaching again, and investigate to see if any abuse actually occurred. Calling it rape just because the kids were 17 is retarded.

And don't give me any of that ''hurrr if it were a man'' nonsense. We don't remember Rosa Parks because she went around slashing up all the seating in the front.
